If you think this place is better than terrible… You are indicating you have no experience with good Chinese food. This place stinks… Service was terrible, food was tasteless and the place is so noisy you can’t hear yourself gag. Will never be back!
**BlueFin Tuna Boycott**. This used to be my favorite local sushi restaurant – until yesterday when I saw they had Bluefin Tuna on their daily special board. As one of the world’s most unsustainable fisheries, I am deeply saddened that the owners of Red Ginger would purchase, much less promote, the consumption of Bluefin Tuna. I’m hoping that this was just an uneducated mistake, but until they stop selling it, my friends and I will have to find a new favorite sushi place… and I encourage you all to do the same. What a surprise! The Thai themed dishes were a delight and the two for one drinks were a bonus. Worth another visit, to sample more of these fusion delights.
Food was average
Never Again…. Went to Red Ginger last evening with 5 friends…This was not my first visit here – but my last. We were seated about 10 minutes before our server greeted us. We ordered drinks and 2 orders of Calamari…our server came back 5 minutes later saying they only had enough calamari for one order – they ran out (on a Saturday evening). Okay – we had one order.We then had to flag down our waiter to place our meal order. We all ordered entrees and a couple side salads. We waited about 20 minutes for our entrees – let me just say at this time the restaurant was not packed – it was about half full. I ordered the Braised Ribs on a bed of Bok Choy. When it arrived at the table it looked good until I got a smell of it. It smelled sour and not in a good way. I decided to taste it…it was bad. Really bad. I was finally able to get someone over to the table by the time my friends were half way through their meal. I told the waiter to just bring me a bowl of soup, that everyone was nearly done and soup would be fine. About 5 minutes later a manger comes over and tells me that I have to order an entree to replace the entree I returned. WHAT??? I told him that everyone was almost done eating and it woould take to long…he promised to rush it through. Well, by the time my food (Seafood Curry) came – everyone else was done. What kind of customer service was this???? I had never heard of this before – making a customer order another entree to replace the one I returned. Any other restaurant I had heard of just takes the meal off the check, apologizes and then offers you something else gratis!The manager never came back to the table to ask how my second entree was, no one ever did, actually. The to add just a tad bit more of aggravation to the evening – the server brings the check and tacks on 18% grautuity! It would have been okay had we gotten 18% type of service – but we barely got the kind of service that warrants 10% grautity.Needless to say, we are not going back. I’m writing this review so that others will not go there expecting customer service because there just isn’t any at all.
DONT GO!. The manager was absolutely terrible!!!! I went in with a coupon and presented it to the waiter before I ordered to make sure I could use it that day, however when I went to pay the manager said that I could not use it. When I explained to him that the coupon was unclear hence why I presented it immediately before ordering he told me, with the waiter standing right next to him, that the waiter apparently was illiterate and that I was illiterate as well. WOW!!!! Terrible!!!
Wonderful Asian Cuisine!. Went there on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. Enjoyed both tasty and large portions of the miso soup, agedashi tofu, and garlic bok choy. Service was prompt and friendly, and even helped us choose the best items for myself and my girlfriend’s varied tastes. Will be back!
