Miso soup has very good flavor and salad was normal good. We had sashimi and rainbow roll and both were good but the tuna wasn’t the best. Overall we liked everything including the bottled Sapporo which seemed to taste better than canned. Ambiance is simple as in a strip mall and service was initially a bit slow but then moved along fine. Nice simple sushi with good taste.

I do Like this place!. I go here from time to time just to break up my old routine of hitting my standard sushi haunts. Actually, I should go more often because it is damn good. The staff and owners are really really friendly. They always ask how my dad is, where have you been, we just saw your buddy Big Richie….etc You get the picture. very friendly. The restaurant is very clean. On top of that, it’s lit really well and has a nice open feeling to it. A cool thing about Sakura is that they have tables that can be closed of by a sidling door. Almost like a closet. Perfect for a romantic dinner or if you want to practice coming in and out of the closet…LOL…. I usually sit at the sushi bar and again this bar is clean. I ordered some sweet shrimps and the sushi deluxe dinner which comes with miso soup and a ginger dressing salad. You also receive a small comp bowl of fruit and cucumbers marinaded in a sweet and sour liquid to cleanse your palette. The soup is good….I mean it’s miso soup hard to screw it up..lol. I like the ginger dressing and it’s always nice and cold. My sushi was excellent, see pic. The chef was ever so kind to send me a few pieces of Toro Sushi which was off the charts good. The sweet shrimps were very tasty. I would have to say that sweet shrimp is my favorite sushi now followed by Uni. The presentation of all the food was fantastic. My ranking of sushi places out west have changed, NU Sushi is still #1 and Sakura is now #2 with Tee-Jays a distant 3rd, sorry Got. Remember to tell them Dan sent you and Stay Hungry!
