I had the she crab soup which was thick and creamy which is what you want in a she-crab soup. I would rate this definitely at 9 out of 10 since I had to add pepper my husband ordered the fish dip in which they used king fish. They also added red onions and capers as a garnish. I would also read this is a nine out of ten I know I’m nitpicking but I would have pickled the onions. Since we ordered the appetizers we decided to split The Market Fish which was parmesan crusted amberjack fish with a Wasabi type aioli sauce. The sides were a risotto and a potato dish, chefs choice. Overall everything was really good. 7/10.My husband thought that the sauce didn’t go well with the fish, I thought that the parmesan crust was maybe a little much. The risotto and potato dishes were good but didn’t blow my socks off.
This was a very pleasant surprise in a small town, even if it is a tourist location. We visited here based on some reviews and were not disappointed in the least. The portions were way more than we could finish. The food was fresh, the sauces were rich and creamy, and the staff was very efficient. I had the shrimp and grits, my husband the Mac and Cheese. The names of the dishes are misleading as both were very much gourmet selections. Great food!
Chilean Sea Bass. Delicious!!!!
BEST FOOD and ATMOSPHERE. Vintage has the best food around. The atmosphere is great and the service is on point. Yes it is a higher priced restaurant, but you get what you pay for. The food here is amazing. You won’t find anything else like it in citrus county.
As a former Restauranteur. Dateline 9 dec 2014. Best restaurant in Citrus Co, case closed. When was the last time, or only time, the waiter opened the door for you at arrival?? Mike greeted us with a smile as per usual. Cedar Key clam app, 3 entrees and FRESH Fl Black Grouper done to perfection both ways, and Chicken Roulade, Bellisimo. Delicious cappuccinlo and flourless chocolate mint cake for dessert and I wanted to stay till the next nites dinner service. @nd time this week and theres still 2 days left. Last week I had their specialty VO5 Shrimp and Grits, game over….Savannah and Charleston, sorry Charlie. Tell them Capt John sent you
Poor Communication. We were not notified of a $15.00 per bottle Corkage Fee recently when dining at the Vintage. There was no posting on the menu nor anywhere in the restaurant of the change of the Wed.nite promotion. The waiter should have had the courtesy of mentioning since we would have just ordered the beverage from the menu instead of having a $45.00 fee to our group’s bill.. We have gone to Vintage several times in the past and always had a nice time, but this surely has made a bad taste for a return visit.
Fantastic dinner. Our waiter, Michael, was awesome. We had the honey mustard rack of lamb and Chilean sea bass in buerre blanc, sun-dried tomato risotto and (not your average) key lime pie. Wine selection is strong and very modestly (refreshingly so) marked-up. We paid just $52 for an average retail of $34! Highly recommend. A great find in the wilderness of NW Florida gulf coast.
