If you find yourself at the fort Lauderdale airport, torn basil is one of a few places where you can grab a quick bite to eat before boarding your flight. They serve individual sized pizzas for ~$10 and they come in a variety of interesting toppings. I especially enjoyed the buffalo chicken.
FOOD:We were waiting for our flight to leave therefore, we had decided to grab a bite before departing. We had noticed the mini pizzas in the window as we stood in line therefore, we knew the size of the item that we were to get. However, we were shocked at the price, which was $8.69 for the Classic Pizza, which consisted of tomatoes, basil, and mozzerella. The pizza itself was okay, although it was very greasy, and the cheese came right off of it when you bit into it. The crust was quite thick, although it was a bit soft, which made it taste like it wasn’t fully cooked. The pizza waseaten in about three minutes, that was how small it was. I could have gotten a whole pizza for that same price, and would have had leftovers too!ATMOSPHERE:This restaurant was situated in Terminal 2, Concourse D of the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. There was seating available inside of the restaurant however, it was always crowded, with people coming and going to catch flights or to go elsewhere. We had decided to eat our pizza in the seats next to the check-in counter of our flight as it was more relaxing and not as crowded.SERVICE:There were quite a number of people working therefore, the process to get the pizza was fast. It was a typical food line, which moved at a good pace, with nothing too out of the extraordinary happening.COST:1 Classic Pizza: About $10.00 (Taxes Included)WOULD YOU RETURN?I would not return to this restaurant again, only because I found the price for a personal-sized pizza to be a bit ridicuolous, along with how oily and cheesy it tasted. Definitely not the type of pizza I would like to have again.
