Good food , bad service. We went there for the first time. The place is nice, the food is good but the service not good. I don,t know if it was because it was Easter Sunday (although at the time we went it was not rush hour) or it was our server (Kavita). The food was served fast (by other person not our waitress), the only drinks she offered for the kids were in light up cups. Until I asked if that was the one included with the kids meal and she told us no, that is an additional $3 ( so if you dont ask you pay the price). She never came to the table to asked if we need anything, when we finished she came to see if we wanted dessert, we order dessert and a refill for the soda. When someone else brought the dessert and I was still waiting for my refill I asked that person if she can get me more soda. A couple of minutes and still no soda. Our waitress came back with the check, I asked again for my refill, a couple of more minutes she came back to get the credit card…..still no refill so I asked one last time. Then she came again without the refill to see if we signed the check. That was it, we left her less than 15 percent tip. Although if it was for me I would left her $0 (but my husband didnt let me do that).
Quality / Service is inconsistent. Kitchen tour is always fun.
Food is just ok ! but great for celebrations. This is not the best italian restaurant around, but the food is not bad either. Food quality is a bit like Olive Garden. The great thing about Buca di Beppo is that it is a great place to celebrate birthdays and other events. They cater very well to large parties, the way the restaurant is divided into different sections is very unique and nice.
Bucca di Poopa. If you go to this place, go for the kitschy atmosphere and good company, but eat somewhere else before you go. This place was an insult to Italian food, and the cooks should be ashamed of themselves. The chicken parm had square pieces of processed white cheese resembling a polyester blanket on top that I peeled off with a fork. The fettuccine alfredo lacked flavor, and the spaghetti congealed into a pasty, thick brick. Speaking of bricks, the chocolate cake was dry — I saw piles of it left by our family members. Italian is fairly simple to cook if you buy fresh ingredients and keep it simple. Go to Carraba’s instead, where they take care in what they cook.
I’ts Okay. It was alright. I didn’t mind the family style sharing aspect of it, but the food was nothing to write home about. Nothing I’ve had there the times that I have gone has kept my interest. I don’t even remember what I ate there. That should tell you something. I would rather find a local italian spot to go to.
Lot of fun with friends. This place is a rabbit warren of comfortable rooms covered wall to wall with old photos and posters that run the gamut from amusing to downright disturbing, but the overall effect is quite nostalgic of a not quite defined era – maybe the 50s. The Italian American food is served family style and meant to be shared. Although the lasagna was absolutely the worst I’ve ever had in my life, in fact so bad that our dinner companions who previously loved the place can’t bring themselves to go back, the other stuffed baked pastas are delicious. The sampler that features shells stuffed with an intriguingly seasoned sausage, spinach and cheese mix, chicken cannelloni, cheese ravioli and cheese and spinach manicotti is our must have dish, but we’ve also liked their thin, crispy pizzas. I find their chicken marsala not bad but rather syrupy and recommend chicken or veal saltimbocca instead. The table in the kitchen looks like fun, and they always parade you past it to let you know it’s an option, but you must remember to book it in advance. It’s a great place to go with family or friends, rather a lot of food if it’s just two of you. The staff are friendly and good humored. Two thumbs up.
Great family dinning. Not your ordinary Italian restaurant, if you are lucky you might end up sitting in tha table inside the kitchen. Beware, huge portions. Enough to share.
