Not impressed. Very bland hot pot. Way over priced even with a groupon.
The food is great here!. I don’t know what the critics are talking about. Been here 3 times. First time, service was horrible because of the groupon users and the understaff service. But the food was great. The next time was great. The waitress was so nice we tipped her 30%. The ribs was excellent. The crawfish were small but very tasty. Yeah, the meat portion was a little small but the soups were the best. As for the decor, it’s a small business shop, not the Cheesecake factory. Most groupon users are usually the worst critics. Not me, I love Groupons!
Horrible!!. This had to be one of the worst experiences I have ever had in an eating establishment. We walked in the door and were immediatly underwhelmed by the horrible decor, the place looks like and old pizza joint with portable camping stoves for cooking at the tables. Once we were seated at a table we waited for over 20 minutes and no one even came by to take our order. I finally got up to complain that no one had visited the table and they still had us wait another 10 minutes till someone took our order. We ordered two hot pots and waited over an hour for our food, I complained multiple times and they told us they were understaffed for the night and offered us some popcorn for the wait. Finally when our pots showed up they were out of portable stoves and we waited even longer till they could find another working portable stove. We ordered the shrimp and barely got any on the plates. The taste of the food was bland and flavorless. I had a groupon for this place and still feel like I was completely ripped off. I would not go back to this place if they offered me dinner for free as it was that bad of an experience.
Amazing. We tried the Hot Pot today and absolutely loved it. im surprised by the previously entered reviews, our experience was very different. waitress/staff was very friendly and attentive, the food was delicious, portions were adequate for my wife and myself (im a big eater). SPring rolls were delicious, the manager came over to the table to give us a 101 on the hot pot and gave us pointers on how to make a dipping sauce from the items on the table. all VERY GOOD and spicy as we like it. dessert was great we had the benian (spelling is wrong) and the red velvet and leechie ice cream, very yummy as well. we will definately be back. the food was outstanding and that is what is most important to me when i go to a restuarant good food, good service.
Seriously, The WORST dining experience ever!!!. I read the reviews, most of which were awful, but I decided to check it out anyway. I had a Groupon for 50% off, so what did I have to lose, right? I was diggin the concept, that was until I walked in the place. A large completely empty restaurant with no atmosphere. I figured we could just take a seat, but instead we were asked if we had reservations..lol.. We were finally seated, As soon as I sat down a hornet was buzzing around us & I immediately felt mosquitos biting at my feet. We had the more seasoned waitress, as opposed to the extremely overly compensating for the bad reviews waitress. We ordered the spring rolls which were not hot & nothing special & the hurricane popcorn which was cold but tasty. we also ordered the Kal-bi Korean short ribs which were the best thing we ate all night, The Garlic butter shrimp & a pound of Crawfish. The first thing I noticed was the tiny portion size. The first 2 were served with a tiny soup cup amount of rice & a choice of macaroni salad of green salad both of which were tasteless, The rice was virtually inedible since the two dishes had no sauce to accompany the rice. The shrimp were awful, nothing like the succulent ones pictured on their website! They were tiny, smaller than you would expect in fried rice, they were few in number, not fresh & the garlic butter sauce was not pleasant at all, unfortunately I ordered the crawfish in garlic butter as well, though after tasting the shrimp I asked the waitress if the 2 sauces were the same, she lied & said no! Beside the nasty sauce the Crawfish were not sweet & some were mushy. We had a few bucks left to spend so we ordered the Beignets which were a total rip 5$ for 2 little pieces of fried dough with condensed milk. Do yourself a favor & stay far from this place. Even at half off I felt totally taken advantage of!!!
Worst Hot Pot I Ever Experienced. This is my first time I wanted to give my opinion on a restaurant that I ate…it’s that bad!!! they like to collect your money but would not like to serve with food…the place sucks…I dont recommend it at all…6 family dinner package for $69.99 is not even enough for three people, just so that i can prepare you if dear to try….so basically you have to order two order of 6 family dinner package for 6 people, and only if you are not a big eater, if you are big eater you may need to order more…worst hot pot I ever experienced.
Worst ever. Relatively, it is a very expensive restaurant!Don’t trust those pictures on their menu. Vegetables and noodles come in big plate (only not bad part of this restaurant). Plate for meat is small (half the diameter of that for vegetable) and they line the meat in two single-layer rows. If you like big stake, that’s literally the amount for one bite. Seafood is also in single-layer plate. We ordered beef and squid. Squid is fine but beef has no taste. I guess it has been sitting there too long. Anyway, one two-person pot is very unlikely even enough for a kid. Vegetable broth has too much MSG. Hot pot broth is made with very little hot sauce and an extremely large portion of capsaicin. Yes, I’m a chemist and capsaicin is what I know very well. It makes you cough, no taste. People are nice. But that’s not what you go to a restaurant for. Besides, see picture below. They count tofu as meat.
