Great food and service. What a great place. Hubby is in culinary school and volunteered at an event where he was lucky enough to be placed with the head chef from Vienna Caf & Wine Bar. Came home and said we had to try it. Since Saturday is date night – off we went. We arrived 10 min prior to reservations. I am always early and we were seated right away. Trudie was our waitress and she was exceptional. Very friendly and knowledgeable. When she found out hubby worked with head chef at event she told the chef who actually came out to say hello before our meal and follow up after to see how everything was. Incredible service that you don’t get from chain or large restaurants. So now for the food. Ordered scallops app. Trudie told us that the scallops were bay scallops so they we small. If this was a small portion – then I cannot imagine a large portion. For an appetizer it was enough to share. Garlic lemon butter was very tasty and I was able to use the delicious bread to sop it up. Hubby had Caesar salad. Pros – the croutons were homemade. Cons – dressing was a little bland for Caesar. I like my Caesar salad to have a bold taste. The dressing wasn’t bad, just not as bold as I like. Next up entrees. I had the small PBS pasta and hubby had Jager schnitzel. Again – the small portion was not small. I ended up bring half home. It was delicious. The Andouille Sausage gave it a great spicy kick and it was loaded with mushrooms. Hubby’s schnitzel was the star of the evening. After spending 4 years in Germany, we have tried many varieties of schnitzel. The mushroom madeira sauce was a meal in itself. I was so glad we had more bread that I could use to sop up the sauce. Fingerling potatoes were perfectly cooked. We actually went for desert and had the apple strudel. What a perfect way to end the meal. It was a great experience and we will defiantly be back to try more of the menu.
This place is incredible. The best food in west Broward for sure. I recently had the Beef Stroganoff. WoW. And the wine section is top notch and reasonably priced. This place is a little slice of Europe in South Florida. Go here.
What a great place for dinner! Highly recommended. GWH
Complaint. We are very disappointed with the Vienna Cafe as a result of a billing problem that dates back to June of 2011 that has yet to be resolved. Due to a coupon conflict, we (husband & I) originally charged $81.79 to a credit card but since there were 3 of us at the table and the third party wanted to use the coupon and charge to $42.00 to her AX card, we were told that we could pay cash and the $81.79 would be credited back to our card. Told that we could not use one coupon on 2 different charge cards. It was never credited back and after many attempts of visiting the Cafe along with a detailed letter describing the incident, we feel ignored and cheated. There is no way we would make this scenario up and it seems that the management of the Cafe does not believe us or just doesn’t care. Great food -poor customer service. Jeanette & Charles Irvine
Best salmon ever!
We are always looking for brunch in the area but have never found anything worthwhile until now. Complimentary Danish is Delish and the French toast is to die for.
