Decided to try this restaurant last night for dinner as it was right next to our hotel. Arrived at about 7pm and the place was packed. We had to wait about 20 minutes to get a table, generally a good sign. We weren’t disappointed, sangria each and fresh warm bread bought out. Shared an entree of stuffed mushrooms, which were excellent. I had Scampi with spaghetti and my wife had a strawberry salad with chicken. Both were very nice. Another sangria was had each as they were very nice (and we were walking). Total came to $85.88. Very good food at an average price, but well worth it. Great service and surroundings.
As far as chain restaurants go, I don’t expect much variability from location to location, but this restaurant was really above and beyond. Service was friendly and prompt (and also had great drink suggestion from bartender based on drink we already like during our 5 minute wait for seating). The bread even tasted better at this location. Food was cooked perfectly and delicious. Will be going back!
Don’t bother. I have been a fan of Carrabba’s since the day they opened up at their current location. My family, friends and I have all had fantastic meals there over the years. The basic premise of a chain restaurant (and the main reason most people frequent such establishments) is to provide consistency of food service and quality. This, I am sorry to say, is far from the norm. What you can expect, is to have poor service (with the occasional exception) and generic food no better than what you get at the frozen section in a supermarket (yes…I said it).I say all this with much regret. It used to be a pleasure to go to Carraba’s, but when they try to pawn off spinach as arugula (orzo arugula salad) I have to draw the line in the sand. Never mind they staff their C and D teams for lunch making the service even worst (with 6.9% unemployment rate in Volusia county I would expect a steady stream of qualified candidates to pick from).
