What happened to this place?. While the breakfast items were respectable, the dinner dishes were mediocre, chicken tenders were awful, and the service was terrible, despite the restaurant being relatively slow during that time. I used to like this place, but won’t be back.

Somewhat a fan. Although I prefer quaint little breakfast spots, I must say I do love the biscuits and hashbrown casserole. And I like the store. I’m not even a shopper and I like the store. I bought some great wind chimes. Be careful in the restaurant. I have seen people trip and fall on those little pegs from the peg board games, because they get knocked off the tables and scatter all over the floor.
I love their store its very cute and I had the sweetest server Denice she is a sweetheart love the waitresses I’m coming back
Consistency Reigns Supreme. When traveling alone, on business, I like to choose this restaurant chain due to it’s consistency. From the menu, I chose a dish I had never before chosen, Grandpa’s Favorite. This was similar to Uncle Herschel’s except this one had the country fried steak. The eggs, biscuits, hashbrowns and gravy were all excellent. My one complaint and recommendation is that the butter not be frozen. It should be left out to come to room temperature so that it is easier to spread on the biscuits. The server was Denise. She was very attentive and prompt. I highly recommend this eatery for any traveler or local.
Fading Out!. Cracker Barrel used to be great. As they age, they have forgotten what got them to where they are today. – Qualtiy Food. I haven’t been served a warm breakfast the last 4 times I went. And don’t bother with the potato casserole, it’s hasn’t been warm since the ice age. Pancakes come out undercooked and the grits – milky water! The meatloaf is still good.
The cracker barrel is a shameless glorification of a culture that should be bred out of existence. The food is mediocre, the atmosphere is cheesy and reeks of iliteracy and inbreeding. As a proud northerner, I find it scary and offensive.
