Was not as good as it looked. The wait staff is friendly but the food was not. There was as much American food as Chinese food. When I want Chinese thats what Im looking for.
(3/8/3016) Confession, my Asian mom loves this place. She and the ladies who lunch meet here regularly for their birthday club to celebrate. Price for lunch is definitely affordable, especially so for the seniors ($6.50). My white boy husband likes this place, too, he can get General Tso’s while Mom gets her Sweet and Sour Whole Fish, you know, a little something for everyone. Well, almost everyone, the confused old guy who thought I worked there (because we all look alike) asked me where the baked beans were and why with all this food there wasn’t any American food around while contemptuously poking at a piece of fish with some tongs). I pointed him in the direction of the mac ‘n’ cheese and mashed potatoes. There’s a sushi bar section and a Mongolian grill section (pick your meat, veg, and sauce and they saute it to order (I’m a little wary of the bowls of raw meat laying around though, cross-contamination galore).Place is enormous, probably could seat at least a couple hundred. I can’t remember what used to be there, I’m thinking it was a hardware store way back in the day. Drinks are table service, thinking that’s for tips for the bussers so management doesn’t have to pay them minimum wage. Overall, it feels not that clean, but not entirely sure it’s the waitstaff’s fault (they were busily wiping up after people). Being at an AUCE buffet in America is like being in a herd of sharks feeding their way through a school of fish, entrails everywhere, wake of carnage following them around; table manners seems to go out the window during the feeding frenzy. I had a sufficient amount of food, mostly the Asian-American variety: Crab Rangoon, Spring Roll, Bourbon Chicken, Dry-fried Green Beans, Mei Fun, Potsticker, Egg Custard, and 1 fried chicken wing with Hot Wing Sauce. Deep-fried items were still crispy, hot items were hot, turnover was good, so most things seemed pretty fresh and vegetables still had some life in them. Sauces were sugary (for American tastes). There was a large salad and cold bar and plenty of desserts (mostly commercially prepared and previously frozen by the looks of it), an amazing rainbow of Jell-O, 8 flavors of ice cream (albeit the cheap kind). Sugar Biscuits were just like Mom used to make; quartered Pillsbury biscuit dough, deep-fried and rolled in granulated sugar. I’m sure we’ll be back as long as Mom keeps having birthdays, it’s definitely a steal and you could do worse, honestly, rather have this than the McD’s across the parking lot.

Stale food of low quality slathered with goop to provide flavor (then of course that goop dries up to look disgusting).Pass… for the love of all that is holy, PASS!
