The usual good and consistent menu one expects from Olive Garden. Naturally, the salad and bread starter is an absolute must. Our favorite entree is the braised beef tortellini. Try the crispy shrimp appetizer. Amazing.

Although it was very busy especially for a Sunday night, our party of 9 was seated within 15 minutes. The kitchen was backed up, but our servers Val and another delightful young lady (whose name escapes me) kept the salad, bread and drinks coming. The manager also insisted we partake of complementary dessert for our inconvenience (which in my opinion was minimal) very accommodating as usual for our child’s food allergies.

An Insult to all that is Italian. The place really looks good, its a new location, and its well done. I hadnt been in an Olive Garden for a long time, and would not have been on this occasion except that a very nice customer of mine had given me a gift card, and I was curious to see what they had changed since my last visit, so we went. The hostess seated us immediately, and explained that she was leaving an extra menu so the server could help navigate us through their exciting menu. I have never had to have anyone navigate me through a menu before, and when I looked over the menu, I saw no reason for anyone to have to do it this time, either. Our server came and took the drink orders. He returned with the drinks, and we placed our order. He was very efficient, but when he described the pasta e fagioli as an Italian chili, I cringed – it means pasta and beans its a traditional meatless peasant dish. I ordered it anyway, and my wife had salad. The soup came, was okay, but not what it was supposed to be loaded with ground beef, and other things that shouldnt be there, but okay just the same. Breadsticks were a little crunchy, and the salad looked good fresh and plentiful. We were not yet finished, and our server came by and asked if we wanted more. We told him we hadnt finished what we had, and that would be plenty thanks. As soon as he walked off, and our entrees arrived. It did not matter to the food runner that we were still on the salad course, the entrees were there. Totally oblivious to the fact that we were not ready for them. Nothing annoys me more than to have that happen. Poor training. She set the food down and went to get a cheese grater. I looked down at my meal, the Tour of Italy – lasagna, chicken parm, and fettuccini alfredo. The fettuccini was dry. When she returned, I asked the runner if I could have some alfredo sauce, and she returned after a few minutes with a small ramekin full, dropped it off and left. No grated cheese for me. Too bad that whoever filled it made a mess of it, and there was no way to hold it without getting it all over your hand. Sloppy, and a lack of caring. Now, to settle down and sample my genuine Italian dining experience that the menu promised me. Reading that made me feel warm and cozy, just like I was in a Tuscan farmhouse sitting in front of the fireplace on a cool fall evening with a glass of good Chianti in my hand. Then reality reared its ugly head. My food was amazing amazingly bad. The chicken parm was made from a frozen, pre breaded chicken patty that looked like a flattened McNugget, and tasted about as bad – maybe worse, if possible. It was short on sauce and cheese, which was okay because the sauce tasted like Prego in a can. The alfredo was flat, under seasoned and the pasta was over cooked. The lasagna was overpowered by the sausage that they use, and appeared to have been micro waved. The entire plate looked as though it had been placed under a salamander too long in their attempt to brown the tops of the dishes to give the presentation a final professional flair -like putting lipstick on a pig. No point, its still a pig. Probably why my alfredo was so dry, and why the pasta stuck to the was plate like it was glued there. My wifes ravioli was toasted and dry as well where there was no sauce to cover them. Lack of pride in your product, as well as an inattentive kitchen manager. We ate what we could, got the check and left. Normally, I would try to speak with a manager when this sort of thing occurs, but given the type of food this place serves, that would be a waste of time. They cannot make any changes to the food. They arent going to get any better staff in the kitchen, so there is no use in bringing up shortcomings to them. The only positive notes were the server was very good, and the alfredo dipping sauce for the breadsticks was good as well. The rest was a major disappointment, even by chain restaurant standards. It amazes me that any company would go and spend the money on real estate like that and then turn around and serve the utterly disgusting fast food that they do-its beyond me. Its a shame that a building and setting that is as well done as this has to have such lame, mediocre food. I am not a fan of chain restaurants at all, but this is a new low. The Walmart of dining out. How this chain is still in business shocks me. They proudly proclaim that in a quaint Tuscan village, more than 1,200 of our chefs and managers have been inspired by authentic Italian cuisine. Well, either those 1,200 are still there in that village and refuse to leave, or they no longer work for Darden, because if they cooked that sort of trash in Italy, they would be thrown out of the country and never be allowed in again for good reason. You can get better quality and the same genuine Italian dining experience from the frozen dinner section of your local grocery store at a fraction of the cost. This is why I stay away from chains. I cant wait to go our favorite local place and wash the taste of this experience out of my mouth.

Service was excellent. Food was delicious & portions were large. The berry sangria is the best mixed drink.
