My husband and I have been coming here for years whenever we come to Daytona. This morning we went in for breakfast and there was 1 couple waiting for a table. After waiting about 10 minutes, another couple walked in behind us and the server at the counter wrote down their name. I went up to the counter and politely told her she never took down our name and we were there before them. She knew we were waiting. It’s a small place and she passed by us a dozen times. With an attitude she wrote down my name. A minute later, she seated the other couple that had come in 10 minutes after us. And to top it off, the couple knew we were waiting for a table as my husband opened the door to let them in and they said nothing and took our table. People are rude. We went to IHOP and got better service!

Pops. We’ve been eating at the Diner for at least 10 years. It’s always good, always consistent. It’s your classic old Diner, if you’re expecting something different then you’ll be disappointed, but I never have. Good food at an honest price. Breakfast is always good. Get there early if you want biscuits and gravy. Sometimes they sell out quick.

Poor Food Quality. This diner has a lot of potential, but falls short with what they serve. The food quality is below average, very little is fresh. Items like corn beef hash are from a can. Do not recommend if you want a healthy breakfast that tastes good, you will not get that at Starlite Diner.

Skip it. Really. Food was not great. Kind server, but largely unattentive. The exterior is nice, but really–go elsewhere.

We went here for our first breakfast during spring break. We had a party of eight which we split up to two tables of four for easier seating. We were seated quickly after a short walk down the block. The sunnyside eggs my girlfriend got were not perfect, but they were good. I ordered a three egg omelette with sausage, ham, (an extra dollar), and cheddar cheese. The food came reasonably quick. The french toast was thick and had powdered sugar and cinnamon. My omelette was tastey and i opted for homefries instead of grits. It seemes my homefires were deepfried, but i liked them alot. Overall, i was extremely happt with the size of my three egg omelette and the pricing was good. Expect to wait a bit to be seated if it is busy. I would return again.

Not an experience to be repeated. The idea was for my to have a Rueben we had not been to the Starlite Diner in a long time and it will be a very long time before we return . We were seated and ignored , it was not a lack of wait staff there were four , one did leave short after the 10 minute wait for a server . We sat across from the register and were ignored by everyone . After the menus finally came , there was the 10 minute on ignore , customers after us were with drinks and orders in before we were . Our waitress allow our food to sit in the order window for 5 minutes , she was busy talking and my potato salad was busy warming , I could see my food , it would have been to the table faster if I got it . The food itself was poor , grease on the plates from the grill . There were several re-fried actually burnt fries in my husband’s fries . My homemade potato salad was made with old dried up potatoes , a low quality mayo , some mustard and I believe I saw two or three pieces of relish. The Rueben was a total waste of my money , the corned beef was machine cut and on the grain so it was tough . The secret sauce , I imagine it is their excuse for thousand island dressing was tasttless and there was one slice of swiss for the sandwich. My husband had to go to the counter to pay and then the useless server we had was surprised no one brought us the ticket and she had to look for it .I was surprised to see they sell Lottery and there was a winner of $100 , we know because the person who cashed it out annonced the fact to the world . My advise do not go useless you want to admire the view of the Hotel across the street , the best part of the meal.
