Extremely delicious, truly authentic Mexican food. It was very clean and the staff was friendly and always nearby in case you needed anything. The prices were very reasonable, so we ordered several different things to try.The tortillas were fresh and the queso was out of this world! Pork in the burrito was so flavorful and tender. Oh and the chips! Fresh made a delicious, this is a top notch place. Even the rice and beans were great, tasted better than anything other Mexican joint I’ve been to (which is saying something). I can wait to go back, I want to try everything on the menu!
First time eating here and received terrible customer service. Both my kids ordered a side order of fries but when our food was brought out to us they gave one order of fries and the other rice. We told the guy that it was supposed to be 2 fries so he left to go back to get the other order. He came back with the rice and said nope they said you ordered rice and if you want the fries you will have to pay for it. We proceeded to tell him that it was fries not rice but he wanted to argue so we just said whatever. He laid the rice on the table and it spilled all over the table. He said sorry and WALKED OFF! Didn’t bother to clean it up or bother to bring us a replacement! And to make matters worse is that you pay for your meal in advance and we had already included a tip. We were headed back home from our beach vacation and wanted to stop in for a quick bite and get back on the road; otherwise I would have made sure that tip was refunded and we got our order of fries. I will never return to this restaurant. Hope all of you have a better experience.
This is a great dining experience. If your looking for a great price on great Mexican food this is your kinda place. They have a full menu for dine in or togo. The first time I went was with my husband when we went to Daytona beach. The second was a year later with my family on a family vacation. We Sat on they outside dining area and they brought us are food. Are drinks never went dry because of the excellent service. Evening tastes good but if you have never had them befor I suggest the Mexican style soft tacos, they are a mix of your choice of meet (I got the shredded beef) it is topped with fresh cilantro, tomatoes an onions. When you get it if you eat it the way they tell you to you add fresh salsa and top with fresh squeeze lime juice. I know sounds strange (that’s what I thought) but the combo is delicious. It brings a new taste to the same old tacos your use to eating. If this don’t sound like it’s for you they doo have a full menu and America tacos with cheese and lettuce on top. It’s not on the strip in Daytona but is still a short distance away from the beach across the Halifax river. I hope you give it a try & enjoy (if you get tiered of the fair offered on north or south Atlantic avenue) totally worth checking it out.
Good food .open late too. Awesome owner and girls are quick to get your food out. 1.00 tacos are right on target. As a resturaunt owner and a food critic. Im going there for lunch anytime im near by.
We eat here when we visit Beach St. It’s basic authentic Mexican food, nothing fancy, but good. I like their chips. Very low key place, nice after going to a few antique shops. Nice staff.
THE BEST MEXICAN EVERRR. If you prefer authentic delicious Mexican food then this is the place to go. My husband and I are driving to Disney world in a few weeks and we will definitely be making a detour to Daytona to have lunch at Tia Cori’s. Honestly I am REALLY looking forward to the lunch and have been thinking about it all week- & yes, I know I’m a food junkie lol. LOVE THIS PLACE!
I have had better…. I found this restaurant while travelling on a business trip through Yelp.com. It was listed as the #2 spot for lunch in Daytona Beach. I had driven awhile so I made my way to the restroom first. There are two unisex restrooms; the one I used was clean. This place uses a counter order system where you place your order and take your receipt with an order number to the table of your choice and they bring you your food. I ordered 3 tacos, one each of chicken, barbacoa, and Al Pastor carnitas. I was asked if I wanted mine American style with lettuce, tomato and sour cream or Mexican-style with onions cilantro and lime. I asked if I could get both and was told that I could. Out was also asked if I wanted any sauce. I asked if they had Verde which they did, and I was told it was a medium sauce and I also ordered the red medium sauce. With a fountain drink (Pepsi products) my total came to $8.51. Personally I consider this to be an average deal. I was given a 12 ounce Styrofoam white cup for my drink. I decided on Dr Pepper because the only Mountain Dew they have is diet and I made my way to a table outside as it was mid February and the weather was extremely nice. They have about 12 or so tables located outside under an awning and they have three tables outside located in the front of the restaurant. Inside theres probably about another dozen tables. The outside front seems to be a smoking section. Theres not much of a view as this restaurant faces a large news building.I checked for Wi-Fi/wireless and I did see that there was a hotspot provided by the local cable company (Bright House Networks) which also features another network called cable Wi-Fi which is part of the cable consortium that allows users from other cable companies to attach to that wireless using their credentials, however, I did not see anything that looked like it belonged specifically to the restaurant. It took about 20 minutes for me to get my food. This seemed relatively excessive given the amount of patrons they had and the fact that it was 2:20pm. My food arrived by a waitress yelling out my number while standing on the sidewalk. This also seemed a little ridiculous given the fact that there was only three tables outside occupied and at the time I was literally the only person not eating.I took a picture of my food and then began to poke around inside each taco to see what I was looking at. I quickly realized that I was only given the American toppings. I was missing cilantro lime and onion. Sauces are served and large, clear, old-style ketchup bottles. This is pretty handy as you can get exactly the amount that youd like. I dove into the chicken taco first. Noticeably absent was the meat and what was there seemed dry. Unfortunately, this would be a common theme throughout my meal. I ended up having to use more Verde and red sauce then I typically do which to me was a big disappointment. I was never checked on at all, so I couldnt ask about the amount of meat or my missing topping. On the plus side they do have a napkin dispenser and salt-and-pepper on every table. At the end of my meal I brought my basket and the sauces in because I was the only one remaining outside.Overall, as my title suggests, Ive actually had much better authentic tacos in my life. And equally disappointing was the fact that some of those have been in chains such as Lime and Tijuana Flats or even food trucks. Im all for supporting local businesses and I often go out of my way just to find a local gem, but Im going to have to sign myself disappointed with this one.
