Swamp House has had its ups and downs. I go here at least 2 – 4 times a week, as I live down the road, either for dinner or enjoy a Rum Bucket on the river downstairs at their weekend Tiki Bar. Since getting a new General Manager it has greatly improved in the last few years. I urge people to try again! We always call ahead and make a reservation for night time or weekend dining since they do fill up quickly to ensure a table with a beautiful view of the sunset on the St. Johns. Try their Blackened Mahi Mahi tacos with a sweet chili mayo sauce! You can never go wrong with a burger and some home made chips either. Thanks for making me feel like family, Swamp House!
This place is terrible… Been there twice and will never go back. First time we had to walk out because they took so long. Second time it took two hours to get food to our table. About five different people asked how many were in our party when we walked in. Place was half full and had to wait to sit. I guess they take care of there regulars and screw everyone else. Don’t waste your time. Seriously, read all the other reviews of people with the same experience.
Swamp House is a hidden restaurant off the St. John’s River…it’s not about the building itself or fast service..it’s about a place to relax and eat off a diverse menu and chill. I eat here 3xs a week and the food is not disappointing…once you become a regular the servers know you by name and even the food you’ll order based on the day of the week. Yes the $ is high but if you are not super hungry you can easily share if price is what you care about. On Thursdays there is Karaoke and live music on the weekends. Taste and enjoy a scene of Old Florida and don’t forget to get a sunset shooter by checking in at sunset on FB.
No no no. After a two+ hour wait for our food we finally walked out. We have never ever done that before. We spoke with the manager after not getting a sufficient answer from the wait staff. She said she was getting our food plated, but 20 minutes passed and still no food. We left and will never return.

Was told 10 minute wait- ended up to be 45 minutes. Told food would be delayed because of a busy kitchen, it was for nearly 1.5 hours. Server never asked for sides for my entree, he was nice enough to pick some for me. Burnt fries served to one person of our party. Food was way over seasoned. When we told server we were running short on time and to bring certain members food out if it’s ready- they brought them out in to go containers. No condiments brought out for potatoes and fries. Had to ask for lemon for waters. For the wait time, not worth it. For the price of the meal REALLY not worth it. It’s a fish camp, and you can get nearly the same menu almost anywhere else. Watched people who were seated way after us get their meals and checks and leave before we were served our meals.I have been to many fish camps in the area- this one will no longer be supported.
