Great times at 4C. I wish I lived closer to Defuniak Springs so I could eat at 4C more often! I’ve never had anything there that wasn’t great, and by now I’ve had a little of everything on the menu… brisket, chicken, pulled pork, burgers, fish…. it’s all great! Save room for dessert – the key lime pie and the pecan cobbler will make your tongue part your hair!
All-Around Bad Experience. I’m not usually one to comment on the quality of service – if the food is good, I can overlook a lot. However, no part of our visit to 4C BBQ was in any way satisfactory. First, my food – brisket nachos – came out about 10 minutes before anyone else at the table’s did. It consisted of a plate of chips drowned in completely tasteless cheese sauce, studded with a few bites of dry, bland brisket, lettuce, tomato and a sprinkling of unmelted shredded cheese. Then, after a significant wait, all but two people at our table received their food at once (including another order of brisket nachos which was significantly larger and more aesthetically pleasing than the one I received). After all of this food came out, it was a few more minutes before my husband finally received the beer he’d ordered when we ordered our food (long after the nachos we were sharing came out, and after it had been sitting on the bar waiting to be picked up by our waiter for about 5 minutes). Finally, when everyone else at our table had finished their food, my sister-in-law’s nachos (identical to mine) finally arrived and, a few minutes later, the remaining person at our table still waiting for his food at last received his burger…and he was rather self-conscious to be the only one at the table eating. There really just is no excuse for this – unfortunately not everyone who has a good restaurant concept has the skills to run a restaurant. The dining room was largely empty other than our two tables. Our waiter was very friendly, and I really think with some restaurant management training and kitchen organization a lot of the problems we faced could be fixed…IF the food was good. But, sadly, it just wasn’t. Don’t waste your time and money here.

Great food!!
I drove over 800 miles from Texas and made sure to visit. Friends and family that vacationed in Destin stopped here and loved it. The BBQ is some of the best I’ve ever had (the owners are from Texas too) and the prices are reasonable. Even their smaller portions are enough for a grown man. Definitely worth stopping at!
Great Place…Better than Texas BBQ. My entire family and I have frequented 4C since they opened. They are friendly, and provide great service. The food is awesome. I have had Texas brisket, from some of the places that make Texas famous, and they don’t even compare. The variety of BBQ is great and always consistently at the top of the heap. I have travelled 5 hours to have this BBQ. It is well worth it. You won’t be sorry….as for Geralds review……I don’t think he is happy with anything….just check out his other reviews….Stay home Gerald….you don’t have a clue as to what good food is.
Reference Mr. Brantley- sorry you had a bad experience. We treat all our customers the same scuba diver or not. As far as the brisket is concerned, ALL of our brisket is cooked for 12 hours or more, and never served RAW. we put a 1/3 pound , or more , on all our sandwiches, and just under a 1/2 pound in all our dinner plates. The chips and dip you are referring to, is served the same everytime with a half pound of beans, onions, cheese, brisket and sour cream and an overflowing 1pound boat of chips! I understand, a the owner of 4c BBQ , that I can not please all my customers, but I also know that I have worked very hard for a good reputation and one bad review from someone does not tell our whole story .
