Don’t pay attention to any of the other negative reviews. Porkies tru south barbecue is by far the best barbecue restaurant in Central Florida. If I would recommend any dish on the menu I would defineatley choose the BBQ chicken. And the pulled pork sandwich. And by the way they he the best fries and sweet tea available. Try it soon !
Not impressed or even remotely impressed!. I’ve been to ALOT of bar b q joints across the United States and especially around Central FL, and I’m sorry to say I was not impressed or even pleased with our experience to be honest it was awful. We had the three meat dinner with ribs, pulled pork and brisket with beans, fries, dirty taters and bread and bread, it was awful, the ribs were greasy and tasted old, the brisket I am sure was not smoked and the pulled pork rates in the lowest I’ve ever had. Don’t waste your time going here.
I disagree with the other review. It’s way better than just OK. We eat at a lot of BBQ joints all over the place. And this is one of our favorites. Their Afterburner sauce is hot and full of flavor! Try their Dirty Taters!
OK – thats it. This place is only OK, just like all the other BBQ in Deland. I stick with the pulled pork sammy and fries. Had the brisket sammy last night and I’m not even sure if it was smoked or just roast beef brisket, but certainly not fresh….won’t make that mistake again. On the bright side the beer is cold and cheap!
