The owner doesn’t know how to treat people. We were very disappointed, never will recommend to anyone. They do not have high chairs for kids. Stay away from this place!!!
My wife and I had dinner reservations for this restaurant and really enjoyed the complete experience. Everything was excellent, from the point we arrived to departure. The hostess was very polite. When we walked up the stairs to our table we noticed the very fine detailed decor which was very beautiful. I had the sea bass and my wife had the salmon which was very succulent and delicious. We also noticed that their staff is very diverse which adds character to the restaurant. We will surely be returning to this restaurant and the 45min drive to it is really worth it. I highly recommend this restaurant.
GREAT restaurant. CARPE DIEM ( New name but same owner) is very nice place and one of our favorite restaurant. We are going at least once a month, in couple our with friend…We ate in a lot of different place and don’t understand some negative review, I guess people are never happy or have always something to complain about…We discover their new menu, and love the new concept, healthy/fusion with food from around the word, calories for each dishes, gluten and vegetarians dishes also…. I try the Grilled Salmon Topped with fresh pineapple and mango (oh and I forgot that in the new menu, you can choose your own sauce and your side dishes if you desire) with Grilled Asparagus and Quinoa Salad, was very good, and fresh, I felt full but also light (not like you have heavy sauce and salty dishes in some place), Our friends try the Rack of Lamb with cranberry Sauce, the bouillabaisse (one of my favorite too) and the Shrimp Skewer….Wine, we order Nice Pinot noir, but couldn’t remember the name (around 35/40 dollars)For dessert we only share a crme brulee, was very nice, and we try their coffee drink signature, mine who the CARPE DIEM (expresso, godiva, grand Marnier and whip cream) was very good, and I guess was the same number of calorie that a dessert…. but doesn’t matter I enjoy it…lol
Locals who frequent cafe de France. Last night very disappointing.. @ 5:30 they were out of coq au vin. Had to order beef bourguignon. Not much beef & way too many potatoes plus had to pay $5 surcharge. Table water warm with no ice.. Ordered 12 yr old scotch that was $15!!! Owner was around & never came to our table or any others. People @ next table ordered wine & they were out of it. We lovethis place & always recommend but not certain will return… Maybe off season will give it one more try
Nothing good. From the time we entered, nobody greeted us (despite the owner himself being within a few feet of us). The wait staff took about 10 minutes just to fill our water glasses. One of our party members was disabled veteran, thus altering the typical flow if events. When pointing this out to the waitstaff she rolled their eyes and scoffed at him. Upon quietly trying to address our concern with the management, the owner came over and told us told us he did not care about somebody being disabled. Totally disgusting. Do not recommend!
After my first visit.. I wish we had gone some where else for our brunch. The service was good, and the food was average. We will try again but only after we try some other places.
Pass. We drove from Ft Lauderdale and i was expecting a good night of food. I was disappointed. I ordered their price fix dinner for 29.95 USD. We started with the Amuse Bouche, it consisted of hummus, olive tapinard , babagonoush (eggplant) and some small amount of cheese. This was pretty good and the bread served with it was good to. The appetizer was french onion soup and lastly i had a rack of lamb. It was served with a tasteless potato thingy and the lamb was smothered with a way to sweet sauce. My companion had better luck with his foie gras and some chicken dish. There are a plethora of other restaurants on Atlantic Ave, i suggest you find another one than dine here.
