This is the worst excuse for a seafood restaurant I can think of. Overpriced tourist food with fast food seafood quality at 5 star restaurant prices. I should’ve known better than to try a place on the harbor, but at least thought it would be overpriced fresh seafood. Not frozen pre breaded seafood. You sit right in the middle of the freshest, best seafood in the world and everything you serve is premade, low quality, overpriced rubbish.
The worst service of the year award goes to… Our waitress, who not only forgot about us before we ordered but was hostile with every gesture. She threw things on to the table and only communicated with two or three word phrases. We paid way too much for average seafood, poor cocktails and hostile service.
The food and service were soo amazing and the food was soo fresh. Awesome place! Even great drinks. The wait can be long at times but it is worth it!
We will go back! My wife and I had Oysters, Gumbo, and She Crab soup. The food was great, young staff will get better but we did not get bad service. We took our 16 month old son and the downstairs restaurant was great. Every table has a great view. We went early for happy hour so the bill was not bad.
The drinks are strong but not good. The food is way too overpriced and way too bland. I regret eating here and paying nearly $30 per meal.
Fish Tacos are Great!. We always make a trip to AJ’s on our trips to Destin. Why? Because I have to have the Oyster’s AJ’s. They are baked with some cheese, bacon and a jalapeno on top. I don’t like / eat oysters anywhere else. Everyone else I know that also cringe at the thought of oysters also give them a try. Then guess what? They want more! So I’ve learned to get two orders each visit. This time I also got the fish tacos and may have to go back for another round of those before our trip is over too. They were delicious. A friend had the shrimp platter off the lunch menu. For $23 bucks I thought it was a complete rip off. There were a few pieces of fried shrimp and a bunch of french fries. Yes it had a small side of slaw too but for $23 bucks it had no more shrimp on it than a kids meal does. I also thought the drinks were over priced. One of the kids steaks was very dry, the other was fine. All in all I like AJ’s. Will stick with the Oyster’s AJ’s and the fish tacos.
We had great food and service and sitting by the docks was helpful to keep the little one distracted!!! Will be back probably before we leave 🙂
