Came in for lunch…read some reviews from fellow Spooners so I was a little leery. However was plesantly surprised with our mahi tacos and club sandwich! The turkey on the club was delicious and the tacos were pretty great too! I’d definitely recommend this place :0) our server Sarah was very nice and accommodating too!
Wouldn’t stay open in Little Rock.. Over priced, poor service, average food. I paid $11.99 for a Boss Hog BBQ Burger. It was average size (menu said a 1/2 lb) with hardly any BBQ on it. And yes I counted them 14 french fries :). Got one glass of water from my waitress to start, someone different brought out my food and was never seen again till time for the check. With so many places to eat in Destin I would skip HBS.
Average?. So, maybe Hogs Breath is a good late night drinking and party place, but a top notch barbecue place it really isn’t. The price point is high and the service is a bit lackluster The barbecue seems to be pre-cooked commercially smoked fare. It seems, the most of the revenue is gained in the overcharge for the food and the huge push for t-shirt sales. I’d pass on this place
Not good BBQ chicken! No one was there to seat us. We waited a long time for our server and their chicken was just ok. Ours had lots of pinky raw looking spots that the waitress assured us was ok. I still was skeptic and ate around it. The texture of the chicken was good, however it came out with only a rub on it, no sauce, and the rub had a funny smell. We won’t be going back!
Great Sandwiches. I love the fish sandwich topped with their coleslaw. I always get the sauce and slaw on the side so the fish doesn’t get soggy. I’ve had the Southwestern chicken sandwich which is also delicious. My sister had the shrimp one and devoured it. The only one I would stay away from is the club which was very dry. If you go on Thursday night in the summer, you can get a view of the fireworks from the harbor.
Good BBQ. We ate at Hog’s Breath and very pleasantly surprised. We got in without waiting ( I think b/c we had an infant with us). I had a brisket sandwich, which was very tender and excellent. My husband had a pulled pork plate, which he said was delicious. It was not overpriced and the food was good. I would recommend this place.
Sitting out on the deck and listening to the music is awesome. I got the BBQ platter for the first time ever and was shocked at how good it was. Fall off the bone dry ribs with awesome pulled pork and smoked chicken. If this place was somewhere besides a fishing mecca it would have a great BBQ reputation. Mozzarella sticks are awesome also.
