Once again I’m not huge on reviewing chains, given Destin is full of them it’s somewhat inevitable. I am a fan of Mellow Mushroom in general but I’m also aware of some of their pitfalls.Pros:1.) This cannot be said of all Mellow Mushroom locations, but this particular location does an exceptionally good job with consistency and quality. 2.) They make their own sarsaparilla a pretty nice treat. And something unique to this location.3.) Most of the waitstaff and servers are pleasant.4.) Their pizza is tasty and somewhat unique in flavor profiles. Red Skinned Potato Pie is one of my favorites. I also enjoy the Meat Lovers, but it has an insane amount of sodium; I caution ((seriously)) anyone who has cardiac//health troubles to avoid most of their meats. —Cons:1.) They are overpriced for what they offer. I do believe some of their products are higher quality than your average pizza joint, however this is not across the board for all of their offerings. No way around the fact that I believe paying $23 for a medium pizza is fair or good value. But it’s tasty and makes for a fun treat. 2.) I want to like their salads, but these aren’t ever quite as good as I hope. Appetizers are middle-of-the-road.3.) The music is ALWAYS too damn loud! I’m not excessively particular about the genre of music, but I absolutely detest obnoxiously loud music. Have always wondered what their motive is in doing this but I feel they would better serve their patrons with the decibels turn down a couple of notches.
If you’re looking for quick service and cheap pizza, go across the road to Little Caesars. The food is top notch. The servers are knowledgable. The atmosphere is chill. Pizzas are baked on a stone and made to order, so expect a 25 minute minimum wait.. But it is well worth it. Have a beer or two while you wait; the craft beer selection is constantly on point, as well. Overall, Destin Mellow Mushroom is an excellent restaurant and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for the BEST pizza in destin.

We go to Mellow Mushroom in Enterprise, Alabama frequently, and they are amazing! The one in Destin, Florida pales in comparison. The crust is equally good, but the toppings are a joke. The one in Enterprise PILES on the toppings and you get your money’s worth. The one in Destin isn’t worth the money. $60 for 2 large pizzas with barely any toppings. This was our first time trying this location. I don’t know if they were just having a bad night, but this was not a good first impression.
Great atmosphere. Kid friendly. Pizza is more expensive than most other places but really good. Wings are good too. Wait staff very nice, no wait.
