On May 14, 2016 around 11:30 AM, myself and two other female individuals decided to take a break from soaking up the sun and presented to the Destin Ale House for lunch. Upon entering the establishment, we were politely greeted and directed to a booth by the friendly hostess. Upon approaching our booth, I noticed a man, who I now know to be the manager (he said his name was Al) was nearly grimacing at my friend as we took our seats. As he looked her up and down with a less than impressed appearance on his face, I could have only assumed it was because she had worn her swimsuit with a cover-up on into the restaurant. While I understand this restaurant may not be as relaxed of an establishment for beach apparel, I feel as if the glares from an employee– more so a manager was not only highly unnecessary, but unprofessional. Despite the glares, we decided to proceed and order a meal. Our server was great, she very kind and sweet. The food was wonderful, we all enjoyed our dishes. As we finished our meals and proceeded to leave our booth, the manager was again standing in the same spot as he was when we walked inat the corner of the bar, right next to our booth. As my friend stood up to leave, another male employee was also walking by. At this point, the manager has his hands on the bar, while he catches the glance of the male employee walking by he proceeds to make a small pointing gesture at my friend and begins to shake his head. Luckily, my friend did not see this– however the other person that we were with saw it, just as I did. At this point, we are so sickened with his behavior we just wanted to get out of there as fast as we could. Being mid- and late twenties females, we understand there may be a slight dress code for certain establishments, but if the manager had a problem with our attire, he should have politely said something to us when we first enterednot glared at us and ridiculed us in front of his staff. I am highly disgusted with this establishment and will not be returning.

The calamari is just rings. They are plump rings, fried right & covered in chili Thai sauce. Should have a side of the sauce for dipping but it doesn’t. The chicken nachos are humongous. Enough for 4 to share. They can be dry so a side of salsa would be helpful.

Fantastic food! Great service! Will absolutely be back! I had the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich with onion rings and cheese sticks. Best sandwich I have ever had.

Family went for dinner. We had steak, mahi mahi, salmon, & chicken. Everything was excellent with great service. The next time we are in town, we will be back.

Tuesday is Ossobuco night! For $11.99 you get s super tender roasted pork shank and two sides. It’s so good! I also love the ribs and they have a great deal on Mondays for $10.99 a full rack. I am a local and so I am rarely eating fish sticks if I can get the fresh stuff, BUT their beer battered fish and chips is my exception. It is so good. I had the Prime Rib one Thursday night and it was excellent. Big restaurant and patio. Great place to watch a game. I’m not a drinker, but the bar is impressive.

Chicken nachos were average. Was looking for some good wings but didn’t find them here. Disappointed.

Not Ohio State fan friendly for games. Ohio State fans would be better served elsewhere…. Viewing and overhead will not be in your favor…. Even with the placed filled with half Ohio State fans…
