Its not uncommon for us to overdo it with seafood while in Florida during our annual visits. I can eat fresh seafood every single night with no problem. So after 5 days straight of nothing but seafood while staying in Navarre Beach. We decided to find something different on our 6th night. We drove to Destin and found a little authentic Italian place called Mimmo’s Ristorante Italiano. When we arrived this little place was packed. We opted to sit outside rather than wait for a inside table. I had a feeling it was going to be good once I realized all the staff was Italian.Don’t believe the few reviews here saying go to Olive Garden. They just don’t know what authentic Italian food taste like. Don’t get me wrong I like Olive Garden but this place puts them to shame. I was also very impressed with how attentive the staff was. The owner even came out to check on us several times. The food was so fresh and everything is homemade on the spot. If your looking for something fast then go to Olive Garden. If you want A+ authentic Italian food then the extra wait here is worth it. I promise! We got the Lasagna, Spaghetti with Balinese Sauce, Linguine, Ravioli and my son got the pizza.The food was so good and everyone enjoyed it in our group. It was a very nice change of pace from the seafood. We finished off the night with a few slices of the most amazing Tiramisu I have ever had. I highly recommend this place for their food and service. If you know authentic Italian food you wont be disappointed.

We absolutely loved Mimmo’s! We ordered the focaccia, bolognese, and frutti di mare. Every bite we had was absolutely heavenly. Even the bread basket and olive oil that they brought out to begin our meal was just delightful.
