After eating at 2 other Mexican restaurants here in the Doral area, farther than Agave, which I can actually walk to, I realized why I had never purchased food there. Lets start by what was ordered. I ordered a Kids Quesadilla ($5.99 includes thick cut tortilla chips & a kids drink) and the Build Your Own 3 tacos (carne asada $9.79). Be aware that these Build Your Own items DO NOT INCLUDE any sides (pricing $7.49-$9.79). What you choose to eat is what you get. You can then choose to purchase your sides, guacamole, thick cut tortilla chips, queso nacho, Mexican rice & pinto beans (refried or whole). Sides range from $1.49-$1.99. I then choose to order a side order of the Mexican rice ($1.99) & an order of the pinto beans ($1.99). The tacos were warm and tasted good, but nothing to write home about. Portion was ok for the money. The Mexican rice was warm but tasted like boxed or microwaved rice. The portion was perfect for the money. Now we come to the pinto beans. They were very good in taste. Only problem is that they offer refried OR whole pinto beans. Only one available the day I went were the whole pinto beans. Portion was also perfect size & money. As for the kids quesadilla, I cannot tell you about its taste since I did not try it. Both of my items were TO GO. Upon paying at the register, I notice that there are no chips with the kids quesadilla & no kids drink in my bag, which should have been included in the kids meal I had ordered. I asked for the 2 items and I was told that ONLY if the child were to be present would they give you the chips and the kids drink. That if an adult was buying they would not include them with the order. I thought this was completely ridiculous being that I was buying food for myself & my child right after leaving work and therefore I did not have my child with me. Needless to say, I was NOT given the chips nor the drink. So I ended up paying $5.99 for a kids meal (which was in reality not a kids meal but just a small cheese quesadilla) & separately purchasing an order of chips. I decided to not purchase the drink since I would be going home to eat anyhow. You would think that a few chips, not a full order as the one you buy, should be given w/ the kids meal regardless of wether or not the child is there present. Needless to say, I will not be going back.
