  My wife found Cooper’s Hawk by accident just while browsing for something new and different. We decided to give it a try and were we ever impressed. We walked in and were greeted by staff but the fascinating thing is that there is a wine bar for tastings right out front. How often do you see this type of thing in Miami? You don’t, it’s just that simple.We sauntered over to the, well I did as my wife was taking pictures of everything, Maitre d to put my name in. We were seated immediately.Decor is modern yet rustic to evoke the traditional winery look and feel. Our waitperson, Nicole C, soon arrived and greeted us warmly and with vigor. She explained many things about the establishment and the wine and offered us a couple of tastings each, based up on what wines we liked. Her suggestions were spot on. My wife decided upon the Cooper’s Hawk Red, a blend that she found delightful, and I opted for the Winemaker’s Barrel which is a limited release and only in a wine barrel. It was a blend of Bordeaux and other grapes and I found it to be very good. The menu through not extensive offers up all kinds of interesting dishes. It is good to do a few things very well then to do lots of things mediocre.My wife opted for the Leonard Burger and I for The Prime (sandwich). I didn’t try the burger since my Prime sandwich was just to darn good to put down or even share. In descriptive terms, succulent comes to mind.All through our dining experience, Nicole would stop by and check on us from time to well timed time.To finish this:The bill was moderate for the experience. I’ve eaten at many other places in Miami that left me feeling like an intruder or a cash cow. Cooper’s Hawk left me wanting to return to experience more. My wife and I plan on returning to do some wine tasting and of course work our way through the menu. My first experience there and I really like the place.
