Good friends of mine have always raved to me about how incredible Dragonfly is and have long awaited for me to try their food. I finally came in for brunch the weekend of my birthday and had a seriously stunning dining experience. They offer a three course set menu for brunch for $23 which I found to be extremely reasonable for the quality and amount of food I received. I don’t recall how much I paid additional for the unlimited drinks but I definitely remember thinking to myself that it was a great deal because it included other options than mimosas like bloody marys!I decided to order the Chicken Kaarage as my appetizer, the Snake River Farms Kurobuta Benedict, and the Tangerine Cake. My appetizer was absolutely delicious! Plenty of crispy chicken for one person that I was worried I would be too full for my meal! I was kidding myself though since the moment I laid eyes on my Benedict, I knew I was going to love it. They took the concept of pork buns and made it into an incredible Benedict! The eggs were beyond perfectly poached and I absolutely loved it, dreaming about it till this day. I was kinda unsure what I wanted for dessert so I just chose the tangerine cake on a whim and was so happy that I did! It was more of a chocolate mousse cake with hints of tangerine—-completely divine.I also ordered the chicken skin yakitori since I saw recently on something I was watching how phenomenal it can be and was truly surprised by how delicious it was! Also, the service is impeccable! Both managers really go out of their way to educate their customers about the quality of their food and about Japanese cuisine in general. We also go to try their anchovy and eel……both melted in my mouth and I think was some of the best nigiri I’ve ever had.Bottom line: if you haven’t been to dragonfly, you really must find a way to go! It’s a little higher of a price point then what I usually eat but definitely spectacular for any special occasion or when you’re just in the mood to treat yourself to a wonderful dining experience!IG: @KFitzEats

This restaurant, located at Doral, surprises by the freshness of their food and the dishes presentation. Although its style is obviously Japanese, food is dressed with international touches enjoyable through their flavor combinations. As a curious tip, Dragonfly has a fish shop aside of the restaurant, and fast food for lunch in that same area. It offers happy hours Monday through Friday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, a very well-stocked bar of spirits beverages and a brunch menu. No doubt, we will return. What we liked the most: Baby Octopus Sunomono miamismith.com

I was a little bit underwhelmed. I arrived late so I felt a bit rushed to order and eat. That being said, the food was good. I ordered some sashimi and the quality of fish was very high. The maki rolls were good but lacked flavour apart from the coriander leaves on top. Even the wasabi paste lacked punch! The Kitachiko Nest beer I ordered was very good though. The decor was great. The ambiance is modern. The staff was nice, but I can’t say I was blown away by the service. They were busy cleaning up, so I guess that explains why I felt a little bit left out.Overall a good place to have a casual dinner with friends.
