Lobster Salad. My sister and I popped in the evening of March 15th at the spur of the moment. We had both always wanted to go here and never had the chance. It was busy but we were seated right away. Our server was very attentive without hovering even though the place was packed. We ordered the lobster salad and the asparagus tempura. I expected some lobster tossed on mixed greens. NO! We got at least a pound of lobster lightly dressed, mixed fresh fruit, and a dinner roll. It was like a lobster roll without the roll and so very fresh! The tempura asparagus was flash fried and not greasy at all. We split the meal and with a couple of ice teas our bill came to around $30. It was the perfect amount of food. They have gorgeous looking dessert but we passed on them this time. We are now planning to go the Monday after Mother’s Day. With family members in hospitality we never go out to eat on Mother’s Day.
Seriously good. Like it a lot. Don’t take my word for it. Just try it yourself next time your in Dunedin and make your own opinion. You won’t regret it

DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!! WENT TO THE PITS!!!!. Cafe Alfresco was good for many years, but the last few visits was not very good at all!! The food is so bland and the specials which use to be good are so different, so I inquired about the change in the food because I knew Chef Roger always had great specials everyday and night! I was told Chef Roger has moved on. Good for him from what our server said. It’s just not the same and we have been coming there for 15 yrs or so and got to know everyone including the staff. The staff isn’t the same either and they are not as friendly as they use to be. The last few times we have been in the food was over cooked and just yuck! I will say one thing Cafe Alfresco is missing the most important thing!!! CHEF Roger!! He was the best!! We will not be going back!! Dunedin has too many good places to eat so we will try them and hopefully find our new place!! We use to love this place and our friends said the same thing. They will not be going back either!! You lost great customers!

The greeter was rude and the management was worse. Don’t waste your time here. The food is bland at best and the service is horrendous.
Food is sub par and service from the greeter to the manager is horrendous. Move on to another great stop down the block.
