Love this place for the menu changes from time to time and all of the frothy, cold beer and ale offerings. Great, easy-to-find location and the service is awesome.
Great food. Good service. Prices are average. Portions are reasonable; not too large. The grouper sandwich was excellent. Nice big piece of fresh grouper. Meat loaf sliders were yummy. The loaf had some nice caramelization.
Wow!!! I am stunned at the low rating for this place! I have been there a few times and like it A ALOT! The service is too notch and food is always enjoyable. I had The most amazing soup there. It was a very thick hearty bean and pork belly stew. I’m salivating remembering it. They also make this cocktail muddled a margarita I believe muddled with jalapeos that is friggin awesome.
I was pretty excited to eat here, I love Dunedin! It’s a good location, but there were many drawbacks. I found the food to be sub-par, honestly there was a sliced up banana on my $14 fruit and cheese plate. The manager was snide and rude, if this was my pub, I would not want a man like him representing me. The draft was good and the lines were clean, but the lightening at the bar was as bright as noon. All in all, I would never go back as the food as poor quality and overpriced, the atmosphere uncomfortable, and the manager rude.
Animal lovers??? NO. Need to be truly dog friendly! I was walking my dog and she was struggling a bit this day. I have patronized this place and knew they allowed dogs. My dog was in need of water and I approached the girl at the entrance. I asked if they have put out dog water yet and my dog is in distress. She said no, but I will if you eat here. Apparently they only like dogs if they can make money from you.
Overpriced and underdelivered. Loud and crowded inside with an equally loud and offensive band outside. the acoustics are terrible which encourages people to scream at each other. the grouper sandwich had burned bread and some kind of weird slaw with red cabbage and carrots .. isn’t slaw supposed to be white? service was ho hum and the waiter seemed bored and distracted. not sure what people see in this place but they can have it. i won’t be back. cheers.
Spend some money on the place!. You are better sitting outside then inside thinking it will be nice and cool since all the a/c is going outside. Spend the money on a air curtain. It’s so uncomfortable your ice is melted in your drink before you know it. The food is strictly sub par! Risotto balls are gummy, fried brie is too sweet to eat, I’ve had to send my salad back three times now because the arugula wasn’t cold* forget the possibility that the plate would be chilled. I think their cuban has a descent twist and I will say the daily fish selection is the one thing I have found to be consistent. But hey doesn’t Frenchy have his own boats? You have to feel sorry for the bartenders, between reaching under draught pipes and over stacks of everything they can fit on the bar just to make a bartender stretch to serve a drink. What really turned me off is the GM Ron claiming he was the owner when we all knew he wasn’t and how proud he was that he designed the whole place and any mishaps he blamed the City of Dunedin for. Don’t think the city can be blamed for the inferior food and hot interior! Hopefully they will take a few tips from the food critics and residents and get it together!
