Use to be good not anymore!. We went for my husbands birthday dinner we have been there before they remodeled it and we loved it! So he wanted to go back. First off the waitress didn’t tell us what there specials were didn’t even know they had specials of the day until we were done and over heard another waitress telling her customers. They discontinued the Coconut Shrimp boo what I wanted, the side salad was blah! We had a bowl of calm chowder they must have changed the recipe bc it didn’t taste the same it was sweet! My son didn’t even like the chicken fingers I mean how wrong can u go wrong with chicken fingers. Husband food was just blah, I got the Sea Sea Burger and fries which was $3.00 extra really??? Nothing to munch on while waiting for food, asked if hubby gets a birthday dessert nope she said they use to, but not anymore first restaurant we’ve been to that doesn’t do anything for a birthday!! So nontheless we will never go back definitely not worth the $$$!!!!!!!

Thanks but no thanks!. This restaurant is charming with an excellent location. BUT, the food is just okay and over priced. We had a friendly attentive server, but the food is not worth the price tag. My sister and I went for lunch and each had a sandwich along with a conch fritter appetizer that we split. You can pay an extra $3, and get fries or onion petals with your sandwich. My sister got the onion petals and they were quite good. Since I didn’t order the fries or onions, I received a small handful of chips on my plate. For $14, I received a very small piece of grouper on a nondescript bun with a handful of Lays chips. I wont be going back and wont recommend either. Because of their location and the quaint downtown of Dunedin, they will continue to lure in tourists, etc..

Rip off…. My son and I stopped in yesterday for lunch. I should have known better but it has been YEARS since I tried Sea Sea Riders – I wanted to give them one last chance. It was around noon and the parking lot wasn’t very full – first red flag since there was a street festival happening. I ordered the Buttermilk Chicken Sandwich and the waitress asked me if I wanted fries instead of chips – thus implying she could do this at no cost to me (guess what – $3.00 for a handful of fries). I also ordered my son a chocolate milk – guess what – $3.00! The owner of this place should be ashamed of himself/herself for price gouging customers this way. My sandwich, sub fries and milk cost me $17 and change – is this the RITZ? Far from it…When I spoke to the manager on duty she agreed the prices were ridiculous but said she couldn’t do anything about it except offer me a piece of key lime pie.I took the pie and will never return (and I’ve lived in the area since 1980)!

Mean Girls. My wife and I visited Sea Sea Riders Saturday around noon, where we met our daughter, who had arrived before us. The first thing I noticed was that the restaurant was empty except for a couple sitting outside on the porch. The second was three young women huddled around the host stand. None of them turned to welcome us; we had to interrupt them and ask where our daughter was seated. One of them with barely a look our way waved her arm toward the back of the dining room. Our daughter, 30, smart and tuned in to the world around her said she had been seated 15 minutes before and other than bringing her a glass of iced tea her waitress had not returned to check on her, but had spent the entire time talking and giggling with the other two with an occasional glance in her direction. Our daughter was upset, feeling as if the three wait staff were talking about her. We three sat there for another two or three minutes waiting for someone bring menus and take our drink order, but the three women continued their pow- wow nonstop. My wife called out several times to get their attention without a response. Finally after nearly five minutes of being completely ignored. I walked up to where they were huddled around their lockers, sorry, (Freudian slip) their host stand, and had to raise my voice to break into their tte–tte. I asked if they were going to wait on us, and the three stood and stared at me as if I was an ET. Well, I became angry, called out to my wife and daughter to leave with me. The three super snobs still did not speak, even as we walked toward the door. In total frustration I loudly asked if there was a manager on site, they stood open mouthed, but did not answer. When I asked, again with a louder voice one of them nodded yes. The manager, did not understand why I was upset. It seems obvious that the wait staff did not want their little gossip session interrupted, that they could not be bothered with customers. We have been good customers of Sea Sea Riders for several years, bringing others to this restaurant, but no more. How can ownership let this happen? It makes one wonder. We went down the street to Casa Tina, where the place was crowded and were met at the door with a smile and warm welcome. We had great service and good food.
