Fail….. Per the reviews here and the rating I decided to try this place tonight to satisfy my Thai food craving. What a terrible disappointment. Snow crab soup was barely ok. Not much crab, one sliver of claw meat. Most of the meat was from the body. Flavor ok, but not worth ordering again. My entree with chicken and shrimp must have had 30 limp overcooked pale snow peas. Snow peas are great al dente, crisp and fresh…these were cooked to death and too numerous. Annoying to eat around. And every bite I took was an explosion of cilantro (or the lime leaves they use) that completely overpowered any flavor of chicken, shrimp or sauce. Speaking of sauce, the food was swimming in a watery brown bland liquid. Not good.I brought dessert home and am scared to even try it.Everybody that loves this place should go to Amarit, or Thai Spice, or Sabai. I eat at alot of Thai places and those 3 are tops. Every course and every meal ever at those 3 places have rocked. Sorry Thai Town… I did like the atmosphere though. The dining room is nice. -I want to add that I have now tried the dessert. Pretty good. I will give kudos for the Pumpkin custard.
Very good, and consistent. Good service, too. Food is fresh – and always prepared exactly as I request. I highly recommend as a local go-to Thai restaurant – for both eat-in and take-out.
Step into another world. Escape reality and step into the magical world of Thai Town. From the first minute that you enter the restaurant you will feel as though you’ve entered an exotic wonderland. The decor is unique and Asian inspired , check out the carved wooden tables on the way to your seat. Lunch offers a great value here typically providing a delicious jasmine rice soup & fried spring roll along with your lunch entree. We like the chicken & shrimp pad thai dishes so we’d happily recommend them to you.I usually order mine mild but my dining companion likes his fire hot & spicy. If you want a mini escape from daily grind this is somewhere you should check out when in Dunedin.
Yum, yum Thai. Decided to try this place today and thouroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere. My husband is not a Thai food fan and he even enjoyed his meal. The curry dish i had was great and they blow Tum Yum out of the water! Definately a must try if you like thai.
Love Thai Town!. Too often I’ve been disappointed by some Thai restaurants around the country, but Thai Town is fabulous: delicious fresh food served by a cheerful smiling Thai gentleman in a tiny cozy dining room in a little rundown looking shopping center that I never would’ve guessed held such a jewel of a Thai restaurant. A friend invited me here 3 years ago for lunch, and I’ve been returning ever since, even now that I live 86 miles south. I hope he opens a place near Sarasota one day. Fantastic menu always! Favorites: tom yum goong soup with shrimp and masaman curry. Wonderful & want some right now but they’re not open at midnight alas.
DELICIOUS!!. Best Thai food in the area!! The pad thai is out of this world! But everything I have ever tried here has been great! Fresh and very reasonably priced for the large portions they serve! Five stars!!
