Great Flavors, fast service. First time experience. Great food. Very fresh and tasteful. Fast and friendly service. Antonio, one of the owners, very attentive. We will definitely be back!
Good NY style pizza and traditional italian food. Umberto’s is great. Their pizza is a nice thin traditional NY style crust. Good fresh ingredients. Calzones have a nice ricotta mozzarella mix. Traditional italian fare served here like scungilli, little neck clams, and marinated (not fried) calamari. Sauces taste straight from grandma’s kitchen. If you want things spicy go for the fra diavolo sauce instead of marinara to kick it up a knotch. If you still need extra heat- just like any good italian restaurant- they have crushed red pepper. My personal fave is florentino w/ penne pasta.
Wonderful Meal 9/7/2012. My husband and I enjoyed a great meal. Linguini with mussels marinara and shrimp marinara over linguini. Contrary to a previous review, the diners complained about lack of seasoning. Our food was perfectly seasoned and the portions were very generous. My dish (shrimp 12 plump and delicious) was outstanding. My husband had the mussels (very clean, absent of sand and grit) were also succulent. Seasoning doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to put enough red pepper to burn your mouth and throat like most other Italian chain restaurants, for instance Carraba’s. Additionally we had a wonderful platter of sauteed escarole with garlic, olive oil and Kalamata olives, mmmm. Yes, we are going back again and bringing the rest of our Italian family back with us.
Good piazza but we would rather carry out. The rest of the menu is mediocre.
