One of many good deals. IKEA is quite a store and once you traverse the maze, food is a nice reward. Actually the maze can be circumvented and you can go directly to the cafeteria. It was busy today, both the store and the cafeteria. I mostly skipped both as I waited for my wife to do her shopping. When we were finally ready to leave the cinnamon buns called to us. Sweet and warm, these disks of inexpensive goodness were a pleasant way to wrap up the shopping day. They sell the buns, as well as hot dog and ice cream cones, in the checkout area. There is even a little seating area. The buns might have been just a little chewy but for a dollar (6 for $4) there is great value for your pocket change.

I’m sorry- but IKEA gets a thumbs up just for the cinnamon buns. Sorry, foodie snobs. It’s a great lowbrow treat.:-)

Surprising hit the spot. Went shopping at IKEA had to buy a few items for the new digs. Normally wouldn’t write a review about a hotdog but the IKEA hotdog was pretty darn good and surprising hit the spot after running thru that maze. Well, truth be told I ate 4 hot dogs they were like 2 for a $1 or something like that but none the less – good! I also bought a chocolate bar and took home for later – it too was only $1 and you know the Sweeds are best at making chocolate…. I concur!

Fun. I’ve only been to Ikea once so far, by myself, and I really enjoyed my little lunch experience in the cafeteria. I felt like I was in a museum cafeteria, and it was cool how the big window kind of overlooks Tampa. I had the famous meatballs along with a piece of almond cake. It was satisfying and definitely something different!
