Great Diner! Portions are …. Great Diner! Portions are large; staff are friendly and attentive-glasses always full; atmosphere is comfortable and very casual; the customers are regulars; and the price is right. This is just what you would expect from a diner. No frills, just good food and attentive service.
Decent Diner. Update: I went back for a 3rd time this week to have lunch. Had the Gyro. Outstanding. Good meat, lots of fresh onions, tomatoes and very nice cucumber/cheese sauce. I travel to Melbourne on business and finally tried this place today (twice)…once for breakfast and again for lunch.Breakfast – I ordered scrambled eggs, sausage patties, biscuits and gravy. The eggs/meat portions were good sized. The biscuits and gravy covered an entire plate themselves. Please note: this food combo is not on the menu as such. B&G can be an entire breakfast for some people. It all tasted good although the gravy was a bit on the bland side.Lunch – My favorite food when I first go to a diner is a hot roast beef sandwich. I’d rate their’s above average. The meat was very tasty with a bit of fat… Not as lean as some places but no where near as bad as I’ve seen at other spots. Gravy was good too. Both meals the service was fast, orders were accurate. They run with a minimal staff, they’re rushing from one table to the next so don’t expect much chit chat with the waiter/waitress.Decor inside is as you’d expect in a diner… simple. Seemed clean enough. It has a well worn feel to it. By the crowds at breakfast and lunch (on a Tues) it’s a pretty popular place. My lunch buddy had a cheese burger that was huge, and he reports tasty.Another co-worker suggests the gyro. Perhaps for dinner one night.I’m sure I’ll go back. If you’re looking for someplace with a wide menu and fast, give it a try. I think you’ll be pleased.
Not Good at ALL!!. I have worked as a Breakfast Server for 20 years now and I would never give the service that I received at this place… I went there on Tues. Oct. 9th around 9:45am because my Husband was having out patient surgery close by. I decided to sit at the bar although it had not been cleaned, meanwhile I waited for at least five minutes for anyone to even greet me, when the server did she said coffee, I said water with lemon she put that in front of me as she threw the menu in front of me, mind you she never did wipe down the place where I was sitting, then pulled out her guest check tablet and stood there… I guess she was ready to take my order. I ordered a simple omelet, grits and a biscuit. Meanwhile another customer sat down at least five minutes after I did at the bar and ordered hash and eggs, (mind you I work in a breakfast/lunch Diner and have done so for years so I know Hash cooked the right way takes longer than any omelet) and he gets his food ten minutes before I do!!!! (WOW) Needles to say my omelet was way over cooked, my grits had no taste and the biscuit not only tasted old it was gritty (how does that happen???) I was not asked if everything was ok until I checked out with the cashier and I told her that the biscuits were horrible and the rest was definitely not good she said I know I’m sorry…(Another WOW!!) The bad thing is even though the food sucked that server could have made at least five bucks off me, someone who did not run her ass off for anything, but she need’s to learn some customer service skills!!! I have never wrote a bad review because I know that people have off day’s but do not waste your time or money on this non friendly, non service and bad food place that they call a DINER!!!!
Great food, but not the nicest atmosphere. Wife and i got a greek salad and a meditarian salad, both were very generous servings and super fresh, nicely prepared, top notch! I would give them A for food, but D- for atmosphere. It is a very basic diner, but well worth the trip. Great food, great prices, friendly service,OK looks. Going back though!
Very good food every time we visit. Nothing fancy – local diner with expected food. Just remodeled. Very clean. Service usually good. But watch out for that Sunday church crows swamp. We are repeat visitors and will continue.
Yuck! Thus place is dirty and I was served bad feta cheese. I won’t be back!
Another Visit. Was in the mode for some Pastichio, decided to give Apollo a shot. Let me say this, It was enough for 2 people maybe 3. Left full and with a 2nd meal in the doggie bag. You can’t go wrong with this place.24 Oct, 2009Good home style cooking. Nice mix of American classics and Greek classics. Daily early bird specials. Pretty good breakfast and I’m not a breakfast person.
