Beach side Charlie and Jakes is not the same. I have to say my last experience at Charlie and Jakes on beachside was terrible. The ribs were tuff,,not falling off the bone like it use to be.. The rub they used was to spicy hotThe beans tasted like Campbell.s pork and beans with some of there pulled pork in it.There chicken was dry. What Happened?I use to go frequently. but since it has been under new ownership he has changed everything that made Charlie and Jakes great!What happened to Charlie and Jakes when you couldn’t even get in the door. You need to get that back and go back to basis.
Enjoyable experience. Really enjoyed this restaurant. Service, food, and atmosphere were all enjoyable. Had the combo plate and although all of my selections were really good I felt like the portions were small for the price.
Weary Wonderland. Just finished moving into our new place. We took a break at Jake’s & Charlie’s and what a smart choice. Service was spit on, food was excellent and the beer was ice cold and at a great special price.I think we found our new hangout…
Great meat!. Vacationing from New England. Wanted to try a little bit of everything . Got the Mini combo with pulled pork, ribs and pulled turkey. Loved the pork and ribs.. turkey was good but a bit to fatty for my taste. Hush puppies … YUM! Homemade baked beans delicious! Will def come back 1 more time before heading home.
Amazing BBQ! Huge portions of tender, mouth watering smoked meats! Try the smoked prime rib on Thursday night’s – it’s insane…know what I’m sayin!

I stopped here on my way home from the beach and got a pulled pork sandwich which was delicious but not quite as good as my waitress Erin she was the sweetest girl and made sure everything was to my liking and she had the prettiest big blue eyes and I really enjoyed her as my server and I look forward to coming next time!
