While visiting Florida, we stopped to eat in Chef Mario’s Cafe. The place seemed clean enough and the Muzak was tolerable. But the energy in the place was awful! There was an incident shortly before our dinners arrived. The owner took a server into a side room and began screaming at her. Items were slammed on a table and the owner then stormed off and slammed a door. It was a despicable display that would have put Chef Ramsey to shame. I felt so bad for the staff that my stomach twisted into a knot and I couldn’t eat my meal. I have no idea if the food was any good, but it doesn’t matter how good the food is if the owner ruins the meal by screaming at the staff until they cry.
