Not good. Service is painfully slow. We were hoping the food would make up for the wait….it didn’t. The food was very bland and definitely not worth the wait. We added salt, salsa and hot sauce to get through the meal. Do not waste your time and money!
Totally Legit. This is the real deal. Not the standard Mexican food that is in most of the area places. I had 3 different tacos and they all were very fresh. Salsa has great flavor and decent heat. this is the type of place where I want to try all the items on the menu!
The food was great but there was only one server for the entire restaurant at lunchtime. Needless to say the service was pretty bad. Also the food took forever to come out.
Real Tacos. Serious tacos for foodies, just like the ones I had in Los Angeles.Soft shell tortillas with meat, onions and cilantro. Absolutely delicious.Try the tacos ($1.99/ea). Get the corn shells, they’re made fresh. Pollo is better than Asada, Lengua for those brave enough to try a delicacy. Chorizo, I heard, was incredible. Hold the sour cream, cheese and lettuce… that crap shouldn’t be on tacos.Home-made salsa is delicious. Chips are free. Upgrade to hotter salsa if you can handle it.This will be only Mexican place I eat at in Melbourne. Just for the tacos.
No Respect. If you like your food microved try this. But if you don’t want leftovers, go elsewhere. I was the only guest at the 5 O’clock dinner hour, and heard the microwave going off 3 times for my order.
Best Mexican Food in the Melbourne Area!. I love Mexican food, and I’m always trying to find a good place to eat that does not make me sick. My husband and I tried El Tequilas last weekend and we loved it! The chicken was delicious; the ground beef very flavorful without being greasy. The salsa was homemade with fresh cilantro on top. Don’t be fooled by the odd placement in a tiny strip mall — this place is amazing!
Excellent Food!. This is a great restaurant. The prices are very reasonable. This is authentic Mexican food, not the fast food type of Mexican food, with lots of lard, etc. My wife and I have eaten here five times. One of our favorite dishes is Camarones a la Mexicana, which is a very generous serving of shrimp seasoned with a delicious tomato sauce, with rice, beans, avocado, and tortillas on the side. There is a spicy version that I would like to try, but my wife doesn’t eat hot food and we always share, so… one of these days.There are also very tasty vegetarian versions of tacos, enchiladas, etc. based on spinach and mushrooms.One way we judge food is by how we feel a couple of hours after we eat it, and also the next day. The food here has always sat very well with us. The ingredients that El Tequila uses are fresh. It is real food, like you would make at home, if you used authentic Mexican recipes.
