Great Food. This place is first class in every way. You can not go wrong with anything on the menu. Love this place! The chef knows what he’s doing. I never get the desert but I got one of their fantastic cheese cakes and it was fantastic! Highly recommend this restaurant.
Things are always a little bit special at the Grapevine Cafe. I had american breakfast which is 2 eggs, bacon, homefries and toast but it looked great and tasted delicious . The homefries were moist and mixed with sauted onions and peppers that were nicely seasoned. The wheatberry toast was different possibly because of the way it was toasted but was the best I’ve had . Let’s face it who notices toast! My husband had the signature creme brle French toast that is actually a bread pudding. This is good but compared to when it was first on the menu the presentation has suffered. It used to be a beautiful confection with whipped cream on top and fresh berries that I used to crave but now it looks sad by comparison. Charge more for the dish and bring it up to snuff!
A very nice spot. Considering that I regularly shop at the Green Turtle Market I cannot explain why I haven’t eaten here before today. A very nice menu, great service and decent ambiance. The meals were cooked well and the portions were appropriate. I’ll be eating here more often.
Grapevine Caf – Gourmet Food Tucked Inside a Gourmet Market. On a recent Saturday afternoon, my group of eight women dined at the Grapevine Cafe. Most of us have dined here several times before this visit and always enjoyed the food and service received. This experience was no exception. The Grapevine Caf is located inside the Green Turtle, a beautiful gourmet market located on E. Eau Gallie Blvd. in Indian Harbour Beach, FL. The market is currently undergoing renovations to increase retail space for produce, wine and indoor deli seating so it looked less nice than it usually does. Although tempted by the samples offered inside, we went directly to the Caf so we would not spoil our appetites. It was smart that we had made a reservation the day before because the cafe was packed. We arrived at 12:30 and the hostess seated us immediately. Our tables were at the rear of the cozy cafe right alongside the door to the kitchen but it was not really much noisier than elsewhere. Since the caf was full, it was noisy but we did not mind as we probably contributed to much of the noise ourselves. Our server, Jack, brought us menus to peruse and took our beverage orders. As I glanced around the caf, I noticed how lovely the dcor was. Creative little touches on the walls contributed to the charming atmosphere. Once inside, you forget that just outside the doors is a bustling market. Since I have dined here several times before, I wanted to order something not on the regular menu. Two of us ordered the Plate du Jour – a special – (sliced) Turkey Club buttered and toasted on thin bread with Applewood Smoked Bacon, Avocado, Lettuce, Tomato, Cheddar Cheese and Onion, $10.99. I changed my side to Cranberry Wild Rice. Most sandwiches arrive with Potato Salad and a sliced pickle. Try as we did, both of us were unable to finish our delicious sandwiches. Anther diner enjoyed the Maple Glazed Seared Salmon – maple marinated Atlantic Salmon served with Pineapple-Mango Chutney with Cranberry Wild Rice on the side, $11.49. Another in our party loved her Pan Seared Crab Cakes – two Backfin & Claw Crabmeat Cakes pan seared to a golden brown and served with stone-ground mustard on a bed of mixed greens with Cranberry Wild Rice on the side, $11.99. Still another ordered the Grilled Pork Tenderloin – thinly sliced Pork Tenderloin with Apple-Cranberry Compote, grilled Asparagus and Cranberry Wild Rice on the side, $9.99. She loved her dish and orders it here regularly. Our diner who ordered the Salad Trio – Asian Chicken, Albacore Tuna, & dill shrimp salads served with fresh tropical fruit on a bed of romaine, $10.99 liked her meal, too. Our next to last diner had the Quiche Du Jour – served with petite spinach & apple salad, $9.99. She really enjoyed her meal, also. The most visually appealing of all our dishes, however, was Crabmeat & Shrimp Timbale – handpicked Crabmeat & Shrimp Salad molded in a timbale with sliced Avocado, roasted Red Peppers & diced Mango served on a bed of Mesclun Lettuce with lemon-Dijon vinaigrette. On top of the salad was a butterflied Jumbo Shrimp. It looked so fresh and visually appealing. Overall, we had a wonderful lunch. With the odd arrangement of our tables, though, it was difficult to talk to everyone in our group. Our server did mix up one diners order but apologized sincerely and quickly corrected the problem. We all thought that we received very attentive service especially considering that it was a busy Saturday for the caf. We thought that prices were quite fair for the quality and freshness of food received. Not only did our meals taste delicious, but also the chefs took care with artistic presentation. As we departed the caf, the servers all wished us an enjoyable afternoon. Staff is very friendly here. We plan on returning. After finishing our meal, we all went shopping at the market. I took home four or five food items, as did several others in my group. The bakery items were equally tempting. Do not forget to taste a cup of the complementary beer on tap before leaving the market.
Stumbled upon this restaurant and was surprised it was in a market. Amazing little find. Super creative menu items. Had brunch with creme brulee French toast. Great quiches too! Wish I lives closer so I could visit more frequently!
Love the Grapevine Cafe. Love, Love, Love this gem. Only in Melbourne area occasionally never miss the chance to go by.
