Ordered delivery last night. We were told it would take about 30 minutes. Over an hour later, the driver finally shows up. Doesn’t say a word, no apology or anything, just asks for the money, and it looked like he had just got done doing drugs. Horrible service. Order from here all the time and don’t think I will be anymore
Lost a customer. Well ordered online around 6pm didn’t even get my food till almost 9 after 3 calls to restaurant. They for got to put my order in and well when the food got here I still didn’t have everything I ordered never even offered to take any money off my bill. I’m sorry lucky garden but unless you try to fix your mistake I will not ever order from you again and I will not recommend you to any friends or family I just want what I paid for.
Be careful. It annoys me to have to make this post, but I feel obligated to my family, friends, and community to have to share the horrible experience turned disturbing in regard to one of our local restaurants. Ever since I moved to Melbourne, we have ordered food regularly from Lucky Garden. We considered this one of our favorite restaurants in town. Tonight, we placed an order for delivery. It started off by the food running late. I know it happens, and this was a first from them with us, but when the food arrived, the order was partially wrong. I called the restaurant, and they agreed to either credit me for the mistake, or deliver the correct food to us. With my brother, who had waited an hour for the wrong food to be delivered, not having anything to eat, I asked if they could please rush the correction to be delivered. There was a slight price difference of a dollar, which bothered me that they insisted that I pay, considering the inconvenience. What makes it disturbing is that they insisted that we return the food that was delivered by mistake. Working in the food industry for a long time, I this sounded odd. Why would they want the food back? Legally, they can’t serve it to someone else, especially since it has left the premises. Knowing this, most places will let you keep it since they have to throw it away, anyway, as a gesture of good faith. After a few minutes of pondering this, I couldn’t take another bite of my food. All that could go through my head was that I was possibly eating someone else’s plate scrapings, and announced my concerns. My sister-in-law could no longer eat her food at this point, either. I called the restaurant, cancelled the delivery, and asked to be credited. When they asked me for the reason, I told them, and STUPID me had to tell them that we probably wouldn’t be ordering from them anymore (which is true, since this experience tainted the whole idea of ever eating there again). Although I was polite, I probably should have kept that to myself, because that’s when they started getting rude. Hanging up the phone with no confirmation of a credit, I drove to McDonald’s to get my brother food, then gathered what was left our order and drove it down to Lucky Garden. Busy inside, the lady (who I assumed was the owner by her approach) topped the night off with even more rudeness, and attempted to embarrass me in front of the other patrons. I calmly told her I was leaving the food behind for her to serve to her next guests. I would recommend Hop Bo instead.
Delivered but overpriced and not great. I don’t understand how people can say how awesome this place is. The rice is flavorless, the portions small and overpriced. Nothing special to over pay and won’t be patronizing again!
Horrible place. Food cold. Use to order from here years ago and was bought by new owners. Has never been the same since and they refused to even take the food back and or refund me any money. Will never order from there again!
I’ve visited this restaurant every week since I relocated to Melbourne. After today I will NEVER go back. The employee who took my order made a mistake, I brought it to his attention. While I was willing to pay for the missing item, he began to demand that I pay with cash because of their $5 minimum credit card rule. I refused to because the error was not mine. He agreed to run my card again but it down right argumentative and refused to apologize or take any responsibility for the missing item. Chinese restaurants are every where. I’ll find one where they treat their customers properly. I’m NEVER going back to this place!
Consistent Food. Fast and courteous delivery.
