Dissapoiting…. The first time I went here I loved it. The service was excellent as well as the food. Unfortunately I only had one good experience. The other 3 times I’ve been here the service was horrible and they were telling us that they were trying to close and that we needed to hurry. Also food is VERY overpriced!!!12 Oct, 2012Great service!. Went here for the first time not knowing much about Korean BBQ. The server was very helpful explaining everything and recommending different sauces to pair with the meats. The Korean BBQ chicken and beef short ribs were my favorite. It was a great experience and I would recommended it to anyone, especially if you are looking for something new and different for dinner. Can’t wait to go back!
Will not return. We ate here as our son and my brother were in the army in korea and wanted some korean food. The food was very overpriced but I didnt really mind that so much but after I paid the bill the cashier stopped me when I started out the door and stated I needed to leave a tip on the table which I had already done. I was very offended.
Although its a bit pricey, but the serving is huge and add the endless serving of kimchi and pickled veggies, it’s worth the price. Had a beef bulgogi and my husband ordered the spicy pork. The flavor was great! Love it!
I don’t know. When you only have three Korean restaurants, it’s hard to complain when they aren’t that great. Sam Won is the most authentic, yet most expensive Korean food in Jax. I find the menu items only increase in price every few months. They don’t offer enough of a selection either. The BBQ is entirely overpriced. For those of you who have never been to Korea, it’s about $5 for the equivalent of a $30 BBQ dinner at Sam Won. Lunch specials are okay and the best chance for those who want to experience Korean at a reasonable price. Sam Won only uses fresh Kimchi which takes away the taste for me. The sides here feel and taste old and stale. The bulgogi is decent, but at $18 it’ll make you want to cook at home. It’s easy to spend $50 on dinner for two, however it doesn’t feel special nor will you leave satisfied. I am very disappointed that the quality seems to drop again and again. JD

AMAZING food and service!. We had a group of 6 and sat at the grill table. The restaurant was packed but that did not hinder the great customer service! Everyone was so friendly, especially our waitress, Eileen! The food was even better than we expected and we had a GREAT time! Definitely going back real soon!
Simply delicious. What can I say we have become regulars, we go every Friday night. It is yummy!! And they are so friendly , and the food incredible. A must for Koreans who miss home, or anyone wanting to experience another cultures cuisine. It really is good. They give you so much food and refills on side dishes, who does that ? No one, normally ,but they do. 🙂
