A BAD TIME. Well we went to the new ZEKE’s bar and grill. Because we had gone to the one on the bay before. We thought this one would be better. WE WERE WRONG! We waited fifteen min for drinks.30 min for food. I ordered the burgundy burger. I only took one bite and it was horrible I ask for medium rare and got well(burnt) done. with limp lettuce and a tomato that was over ripe soft and mushy. the only part that was good was the onion and the side of chips. The drinks were weak and in dirty glass. I could even almost tell what was served in it before my order. Strawberry ? I wont be recomending the place to anyone.
Pleasantly surprised. I wasn’t really expecting much when we went there with some friends last night. We had heard They moved to Dearborn. We had gone to pineapples a few months back and it was terrible. The menu was so small, service terrible, etc. So when we picked zekes we didn’t have our hopes set too high. We joked that they better have a menu with more than 6 items. They did! A huge menu, our server was very nice and prompt! The tapas and the food came out gourmet style. Beautifully presented;) it tasted great too! So we are already looking forward to our next time we go back:)
New Zeke’s Dearborn st.. Six of us went to Zekes 2 fridays ago. The ac wasent keeping the place cool. It was so loud you couldn’t talk without really raising your voice. The food was good with the exception of a double burger is two frozen burgers on top ea. other Class move. Being charged $12.00 dollars for a pitcher of Bud Light is the highest in town. After reading these reviews I would strongly suggest youat least read these reviews and try and make ajustments, listen to your customers, as you being a business person every unhappy customer will share successes or bad experiences with at least 10of there freinds. We will try one more time, if nothing changes good luck.
We visited Zeke’d for the first time on 2/28/14. We changed tables when one was available outside – shame on us. The waiter for the outside seating yelled at us that we were taking money away from him. I do understand that part but the yelling at us. The look on peoples faces sitting around us was shock! This was after the lunch crowd. Do you think we will go back?? No we will not. Pretty sad behavior.
We have been to Zeke’s before and want some out of town guest to enjoy Zeke’s food and mileau with us. We originally sat inside but switched tables to an outside table when one opened up. DON’T EVER SWITCH TABLES AT ZEKE’S!!!! We we literally yelled at by the outside server for affecting his tips. Yelled at!! Guess that’s our last trip to Zeke’s along with our neighbors, friends, relatives, etc.
Absolute Favorite. We live about 20+ miles from this old Florida venue and visit every time we’re in the area. The food is excellent, prices are good and over the past year….service has been as good as Outback, Bonefish, or any decent restaurant. We’ve only had one occassion where our waitress was really stressed (or new) and she’d missed placing one of our drink orders. After we were able to inform her that we’d not received the additional drinks, they came within minutes and the owner’s son came out, apologized and did not charge us for them. Zeke’s can get pretty busy in season, so most visits for us are not during rush hours and our experience has been very good. When we have visited between 5:30 – 7:00 pm on Friday night, it’s normally taken 10 to 20 minutes to get a table and 30-40 minutes or so for our main meal to arrive….but we’ve also waited an hour or more at other restaurants we like. We’re not going to a race, so as long as the food is good and our server takes care of us -we’re happy campers. We love the crab cakes, Basa Caprice and some of the best italian sausage we’ve ever had as well. We’ve pretty much had everything on the menu over the years. The waterfront view and sunsets are perfect. It’s off the beaten path, owners and staff are friendly and down to earth.. a great place fo relax over a bottle of wine and good food that won’t break the bank.
The Good, The Bad, The Ugly. Hi – We have been to Zeke’s twice – both times for lunch. The food was actually pretty good – onion rings were pretty pricey for TWO rings though! The most memorable part was the service – Yikes! We waited 30 minutes and then asked our waitress if our food was coming out soon. She was SO insulted that we should ask – came back and said that WE HAVE NOT been waiting 30 minutes (she checked) and that good food takes time! Came back again to tell us the same thing, and then when we got the food, told us once more! What a bit–!! However, second time we still had to wait 30 minutes (for a salad and a burger) but the waitress was very apologetic and pleasant. To us, location is important (location, location, location) But a friendly, caring waitress goes a long way!!
