Read some of the other reviews and was apprehensive- but our family’s visit to Cactus Flower was great! Our server, Huntir, was great and made great recommendations. Food was great – atmosphere was great- no complaints here! Thanks!

Went here a week ago or so with family and have to admit that I did enjoy it quite a bit. I have not been a particular fan of the Cactus Flower on 12th Ave in town, but in spite of that fact, have been there several times (probably due to their salsa always being so good). We went to the one on the beach just as a convenience thing and I did not have really high expectations, but we were with family and it was the better of the options suggested by the group. There was really nothing to complain about, the food was fresh, and tasty, and the salsa was as good as I remembered it. I have mentioned before that I am a lover of authentic mexican food, and this is more California Mex, which I am starting to like more and more.I suppose I owe you an apology Cactus Flower. I have been avoiding you for too long and I really had a good meal.

I usually don’t like chain restaurants, but this one is good. Their margaritas are good and I had a chile relleno and it was delicious. Will eat here again

Dreck. Bland, mediocre dreck served by waitstaff who would obviously rather be in Siberia.. My experience of the Cactus Flower was, from beginning to end, a disappointment.First, the service. Although the restaurant was fairly busy, there appeared to be an adequate number of front-house staff for the crowd. Despite this, the service was sluggish, disinterested, and seemed to be hampered by extremely poor communication on the part of staff. We were part of a large, well-dressed wedding party, and had to wait a considerable time for a highchair for our daughter. Likewise there was no apparent effort at communication or co-ordination between the mildly hostile-comported young lady whom I assume was our hostess and the frazzled waitress. The chips were, despite the prominent menu brags of all-in-house product, obviously from a bag. Likewise the salsa. We received (and were charged for ) at least one (possibly as many as three) orders of chips which we had not ordered, while one of my tablemates waited for some time (and asked about) a guacamole order which simply never appeared even after queries. When the Mahi-mahi tacos which I had ordered in great anticipation finally arrived, I was extremely disappointed. The fish was flavorless and rubbery, as if it had been thawed too quickly after being frozen for too long, immediately after which it was overcooked before being left to dry under a heat-lamp. The sauce was indiscernible, the vegetables smelled and tasted oddly metallic and slightly foul (never a good sign with cabbage), and the texture of the shells suggested that, like the chips, they had come out of an Jose Ole package. Finally, the Margarita which I ordered- a mid-range offering at $8- was simply not up to par: ANYONE’S par. There was no detectable alcohol content, the drink was bland and flat-flavored, and the green dyed substance on the rim of the glass- which was not by the most violent stretch of the imagination even remotely related to Sodium Chloride- did nothing to help. This was a not-inexpensive cocktail which had all the presentation, flavor, and kick of a Virgin version prepared with off-brand ingredients. Our experience was almost entirely negative. Uninvolved staff, bland food, mediocre drinks, and wildly unrealistic pricing made for a thoroughly disappointing evening. You can practically spit off the deck and hit the Gulf Of Mexico- is it really too much to ask that a $50 meal in an affluent tourist destination include quality ingredients, especially if the venue makes such an effort to plug their food as top-shelf, in-house fare?

Deliciousness!. Kind of nervous bc of reading the reviews but dang this place was delicious! the Mahi tacos were some of the best fish tacos I have ever had and the nachos my wife had were awesome! this place might take a while at night bc everything here is fresh but lunch we were in and out within an hour! A must try if you enjoy mexican!
