I noticed the reviews on here seem a bit dated so I thought I’d chime in since I eat here often and they have made so many changes since the last review 10 months ago. Even the interior is cleaner and nicer. I have lived in the area for almost 30 years but never came here until moving to this side of town 5 years ago. I took my parents and aunt/uncle and they all remarked that it was WAY better than it used to be.The steaks are incredibly flavorful because they’re marinated in a worcestershire sauce based marinade. So if that tangy flavor is something you don’t enjoy, I’m not sure I’d recommend this particular place. The steaks are incredibly juicy, they have a nice variety of cuts/sizes and we always leave happy. They have a variety of sides and are promising more soon (or so the menu says) but their baked potatoes are on point (I recommend asking for a homemade ranch dressing to put on them!) they have chives on the table which is nice. The fried green tomatoes come in wedges and are so good, as is the seafood dip (a cold seafood salad type dip served with crackers) and the gumbo is surprisingly some of the best in town, but sometimes it tastes different on some nights than others. The side salad is a basic iceberg salad but I personally like a simple old school side salad with a steak and potato. Ranch is homemade and delicious. You can ask for a side of au jus to dip your rolls and baste your steak with.Seafood is all very good, nice sized shrimp, delicious scallops, all light and fluffy and they don’t all taste the same as so often happens with fried foods. You get a little cup of lime sherbet to ‘cleanse your palate’ and I love that it is a tradition they haven’t done away with.
