Just went to Drowsy Poet for lunch today, and found it to be a very warm and inviting space on top of the Innerlight surf shop, and being where it is, gives it some of the best views out at the beach. We also found it very nice that they had a live band playing, but do not know if that is an every Sunday thing or not.I had the Gobbler and it is a good sandwich, served on a croissant, and I added some bacon, mayonnaise and tomato. I enjoyed it, but for me, I think that I should have asked for the croissant to be toasted, it would have freshened up the bread a bit. I gave up coffee some years ago, so I did not order any for myself, but my wife had a Chai Latte, and said that she liked it much more than Starbucks. I did have a Dasani water and it tasted…………..well, like water, very cold water! Can you imagine? All kidding aside, I would go back and probably will. The views and the welcoming space filled with fun games on the tables and shelves is a great draw. This definitely would be somewhere to hang out if I was younger, say back in college.
Yummy Coffee on the Beach. Go for the delicious coffee and friendly service, stay for the amazing views of Little Sabine Bay and surrounding waters. This is the only gourmet coffee shop on the beach. They also serve bagels, muffins, etc. A great place to escape the heat on summer days with an iced coconut latte. There is a little surf museum on the same floor with a cool collection of surfboards and art. Try it, you won’t be disappointed. Check out the surf shop downstairs on the 2nd floor and stroll the docks at the marina while you’re there and check out all the boats.
Best coffe ever, better than starbucks. Very friendly environment filled with great peopl that can always put a smile on your face.
