I took my daughter from out of town & her dear friend to Hub Stacey’s at the Point on Saturday 2-4-17. Extremely disappointed! I will say all of our food was good. I prefer real plates, glasses & silverware but I understand it’s a plastic basket, styrofoam cup, plastic utensil kind of place. BUT no one acknowledged or seated us. When I caught someone’s attention I asked if we could sit at a cleaned table I spotted. The waitress with the pretty red hair, no name given, took our drink order & never came back! The table wasn’t really clean as there was cheese on it & the bench. The menus were falling apart! Ever heard of tape? After a long wait I flagged down a waiter with dark hair, no name given, again. He took our order without a smile & no talking. A long wait for food, had to ask him to check on our order. Plunked down on table without a comment. My daughters friend wanted a knife to cut her cheeseburger in half. All we had in the box on the table were forks. Eventually saw no name waiter & asked for a knife & said all in the box were forks. He brings back one plastic knife. I later wanted to cut my cucumbers & tomatoes. Why wouldn’t he bring several knifes over when he knew the box had none? He never asked how the food was or if we needed anything else. We had to catch his attention, again, as we all needed refills! After paying there was no ‘come again’ or ‘hope you enjoyed your meal’. Nothing but a waiter that looked little me he didn’t want to be there. The absolute worst service I’ve had in quite awhile!!
On The Top of My Burger List. My tastes in burgers have changed a bit, and used to only like larger burgers charred on a grill with mid-rare centers. Lately I’ve been craving larger griddle cooked burgers, and had forgotten how good Hub’s is. The patty shape is irregular, and definitely homemadeunlike what an experienced out-of-town reviewer suggested this weekand packed with flavor. The onion’s are chopped, and everything on the sandwich fit well together. I definitely have a new burger for my top go-tos.
So-so. Good local pub atmosphere, with accompanying service. Food is hit or miss. They have awesome sandwiches and decent fries, but the burgers taste like something out of the freezer section from a bargain brand. Good live music make this place a good social option at least.
Was a great place to enjoy a beer, sandwich and fries. We have been going to Hub’s over 3 years since retiring to Perdido Key; always enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service. This past summer they had high turnover, use to know most everyone in there and the service and food quality has dropped significantly. They once had the best fries in Perdido but changed brand and now just so, so as well; We don’t know if we will ever go back.
Good food, nice environment, POOR service. To explain: The food is very good and the price is fair. The environment is nice. We sat outside and had a view of the water (though slightly obstructed…if you want a view, there are better places in Perdido). The service sucked. It was almost like we were a hassle for the waiter to do his job. Waited 7 minutes to get our drinks, then had to practically beg for refills. Appetizer came out wrong, told the guy, he acted like it was pulling teeth to put in an order correctly. Again, waited for refills, had to ask… We even started making a joke of it and lining our cups up along edge of table to see if someone would get a hint. Nope, didn’t work.Food came, no refills. Food was eaten…no refills. Checks come, we pay and sit there for a little bit… no contact from any staff to make sure we were good or need anything.Moral of the story… take some laid back people with you who are good company. If I didn’t have good company I would have lost my mind due to the poor service.
Great locals secret. Hub Stacy’s is located adjacent to a public boat landing on the Intracoastal Waterway (the ICW). Great comfort food, sandwiches you can’t possibly eat at one sitting. A fantastic view…. A locals secret that has been here for years! Tell ’em Doc sent you! P.S.: it’s named after a real person!
Excellent chicken salad wrap and Bushwacker. Lots of locals, so you know it’s good!
