BBQ the way it SHOULD be. When I eat BBQ, I want it to be perfect. That means well seasoned, juicy, tender, lots of smoke flavor (but balanced still), variety of awesome bbq sauces, and high quality meat cuts. DONE, DONE, DONE, DONE, DONE, AND DONE!Turner’s epitomizes what BBQ should be. It checks all the boxes of perfect BBQ, and the customer service is top notch to boot. How good is it? Me and my wife drive from Mobile to get it. We just can’t find anything that compares.I had it a few years ago when it was located off of tippin and I lived in town. It is located in front of the new Walmart at the intersection of pine forest and 9 mile, and no drive will keep me from BBQ this good!24 Jan, 2015Dumpster Dog. Delicious!
Don’t judge a book by its cover (like I almost did). This place has the BEST BBQ around. Not only the best food, the best service. We are BBQ snobs and always test a place by the brisket. Needless to say, the brisket was fantastic!
Fantastic. Don’t let the location or building fool you this is some of the best bbq around pensacola. and you have to try the mustard sauce.
Well first of all the turners are fine folks. the best damn bbq that pensacola has seen in a long time. trace catered my daughters wwedding on pensacola bch saturday. for eighty people. food was out of this world. so many different sauces to choose from. go by and visit turners bbq, you will not regret it. generous portions. tell trace terry sent you. call turner and tell him to crank that burner. your coming down.
As food enthusiast said, the food is great and the service as well. They have added Tuesdays to the operating days. If you want a good meal stop by.
Great BBQ. It is easy to drive right past Turner’s (near malfunction junction at Tippin, Langley, 12th and 9th) and not even notice it. Don’t make that mistake. They are located on Tippin just down the road from that intersection on the right if you are headed south toward the airport. The barbecue here is awesome. Now, to be honest, I have not eaten a lot of barbecue in this area (I was once underwhelmed by Happy Pig), but having been raised in OK and having gone to college in NC, I’ve had my share. Turner’s may not be the sit down dining experience you were looking for, but if you’re going to eat barbecue, why not take it right off the smoker and eat it outside a barbecue shack–no need for wine specials or other frills that you may find at certain downtown barbecue venues. I always opt for the brisket sandwich, which features upward of half a pound of brisket. Sauce is optional and they’ll gladly give you extra sauce on the side. My personal favorite is the spicy sauce, which has a mustard base. Turner’s does smoke birds for the holidays (or at least the smoked turkeys for Thanksgiving), so you may keep them in mind for such occasions. Their hours are woefully limited, but they give me one more reason to look forward to Wednesday. The staff is super friendly.
