Awful service and food.. We had reservations for around 40 people Saturday Jan. 24,2015. Prior to our reservation we checked twice in the week to make sure they could handle this many people and make sure we still had the reservation. They assured us of the reservation and everything would be fine.Upon arrival there on Saturday there was just two young girls as waitress’ who were having a hard time keeping up with our drink orders. When it came time to submit our food order it seemed like the girls were having a hard time taking them. The food orders were submitted to the kitchen and we waited and waited for the food to arrive. A check with the manager produced no results he seemed overwhelmed. Some of our friends waited so long they got up and left. Others did not get their food for 2 and 1/2 hours after they placed the order. The food portions were small and some came luke warm not hot.One would think that if you were the manager with a large group coming in, that you would call in extra waitress’ and kitchen help. That you would want to impress these people so they would become regular customers and spend their money in your restaurant. This place does not get even a lowly one on my restaurant review. At this rate they won’t be in business for very long.
Don’t waste your money. The food was awful!!!
Average Food, Small Portions, Slow Service. I wanted to like this place because it seemed like a nice open air place to eat, but there were just too many negatives.Service: Poor – After placing our order we waited almost 45 minutes before the food came, and they did not appear to be that busy. It looked like they were at about 30% capacity. We had to track down our waitress for refills several times while waiting for our food. We actually got more attention from two other waitresses that came by noticing that we were sitting around with no food, no drinks, and looking around for our waitress.Food: Average at best – Disappointing considering the wait. Portions were small. I ordered a Deluxe Cheeseburger, and got a Deluxe Hamburger. After the wait I didn’t have the heart to ask for the cheese. The burger was below average, overcooked and pretty small (maybe 1/3 pound) for $9. It came with 12 french fries. I counted them because the plate looked so bare. The gumbo had no flavor, my nephews Ham and Cheese was all bread with practically no meat. The Salmon looked good, but that was about the only thing on our table that did look good.Atmosphere: Nice – The windows were wide open, and there was plenty of outdoor seating, but I had to wonder if we would have had a better experience if we had gotten a table inside near the bar.
Great service ok food. Started with the shrimp Mafango. I would only explain this as saying it is two pieces of garlic shrimp on a bowl made out of a bland variety of stove top stuffing. The shrimp are ok, but the bowl is not very appealing. Next I had the special which was the chicken and rice. The rice was perfectly prepared and the chicken (drumstick) was also perfectly prepared and fell off the bone. The dish was a large portion. However, like the Mofango, it was a little bland. I’ve been told that the blandness is typical for Cuban food. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone wanting real Cuban food, but not if you are looking to entertain your taste buds.
Give it a try!!!. Have to say we were impressed!! Great food, great service, not bad pricing. The shrimp Mofango was so good. I will be returning to this place soon!
