Favorite Restaurant. Caf Gianni is our favorite Italian restaurant. Actually, it is our favorite restaurant in general! If we decide to eat out, this is where we go. No other restaurant can compare with the atmosphere, experience, cost, uniqueness, and most importantly…the authentic Italian cuisine! Out of 5 stars, I give Caf Gianni 6 stars. The atmosphere is understated romance, not overdone. The lighting is perfect at night and the room is filled with touches of Italy. The restaurant works great for small parties, large parties, and is family-friendly. It is kept very clean including restrooms. Also, special events such as wine tastings and cooking classes are offered. My husband and I have attended two of the wine tasting events. Each of the four courses prepared by the superb chef is paired with a different wine. There is an oenophilist to discuss the pairings and history of each wine. The food is truly authentic Italian, at a reasonable cost, and is brought to you in a sensible time period. It leaves you feeling satisfied and eager for your next visit to try another dish. No matter what you order from the menu, I assure you that it will be excellent. Chef Gianni uses the freshest ingredients, sometimes even shipping them from Italy. One of my favorite entrees is the Saccettini Pasta: Pursed shaped pasta stuffed with four different Italian cheeses & fresh pears sauted with a shrimp and a wine cream sauce. It is simply to die for! My husbands favorite is the Penne alla Forestale: Prosciutto, mushrooms, roasted peppers and wine reduction with a touch of cream. He has ordered it numerous times! My 2-year-old daughter is a huge fan as well. She repeatedly requests Giannis noodles with alfredo. Meat lovers will be impressed with the Pork Ossobuco: Pork shank, slowly cooked, no knife needed served over rice. Lastly, the tiramisu made with real mascarpone cheese will be the best you have ever tasted! What makes Caf Gianni unique are the seasonal dishes. For example, this fall we had pumpkin-filled and butternut squash filled raviolis. Also, the tangerine sorbet dessert was so refreshing! The only way I can think to describe how the service treats you at this restaurant is like family. They want you to enjoy your dining experience even more than you do! Chef Gianni, himself, will almost always come out to greet you as well.Give Caf Gianni a try! It will soon be you and your familys favorite restaurant too!

I love Cafe Gianni but Downtown Pizza is a different story. We went tonight with a group of 11. One server took care of 3 of our party while another while another took care of the rest of us. Our 3 friends had eaten their meal and had their check by the time the rest of us got our food. We never saw our server and when we asked the other server where he was he just walked away without acknowledging us. Plus we realized after leaving that we were overcharged for our food by about $20.00. There was never an itemized bill. Never again. Chef Gianni, please keep a closer eye on this new business. You have an excellent reputation but your employees at Downtown Pizza are not up to your standards.

Great food, questionable management?. Me, my wife, and my 8 year old son were out and about in downtown Eustis one Friday evening a couple weeks ago when Cafe Gianni caught our eye. We were immediately greeted by a blustery man in a mustache with a thick Italian accent who promptly took us to our seats. The food (veal marsala and a rigatoni spinach dish) was excellent and well priced. Our server was very attentive and she acted thoroughly professional our entire visit. The only downside was the manager who seemed extremely irritable and grumpy. He approached our table at least a couple times trying to sell us a fancy after dinner drink and also told me that I didn’t want cheese on my veal marsala. Who is he to tell me what I want or don’t want?? Put shortly, he kind of ruined our experience. We will be back for the great food though!

Cafe Gianni is the best. I got the house special, which consisted of rigatoni, spinache and chicken in a very flavorful cream sauce. The amount of flavor in that dish was incredible. Christina was our waitress and she was very nice. The last time we were there was about a year ago and she remembered us from then. We were passing through Tavares and we made Cafe Gianni a neccesary waypoint on our route. The piano player was great, too!

Changed owners…save your money!. This restaurant must have recently changed hands. We have eaten at Cafe Gianni many times and always loved it. We went twice in the last two weeks. After the first time, we were very disappointed in the food and service. We were hoping we just hit it on an off night and tried again. My brother got the steak special for $29.99, the steak was extremely small is size and didn’t make up for it in flavor. For that price, it was pitiful and they tried to give him a large dish of pasta to make it look better! My dish had frozen spinach and tough chicken and pancetta and my husband’s ravioli was a very small portion. Sorry to say, we won’t be going back unless I hear things have changed for the better:/
