Very good! You can get authentic Mexican tacos. Not on the menu.. just tell them you want authentic steak tacos. They are very tasty. It’s hard to find good Mexican food in lake county. It’s definitely worth the visit. We will be returning.
Has gone downhill. We moved within walking distance of this restaurant a year ago. It was the first one we tried in the area and we loved it so much we began to go weekly. About 6 months ago things went downhill fast. They began charging for things that used to be complimentary, like chips and salsa, and the food is never fresh. Old chewy steak and and obviously reheated food. It’s a shame, but after 4-5 awful experiences in a row, we have stopped going completely.
This is honestly the worst Mexican restaurant I’ve ever had the misfortune of trying. First, the waiter ignored me completely to explain to my husband why I was wrong in the way I wanted my food. (Sour cream on the side.) Second, I sat with an empty glass for over 5 minutes. Third, you are charged for chips after the first tiny basket. Fourth, two meals were done wrong. Fifth, when mine was sent back for the SECOND time, I was still ignored in favor of my husband. I finally just gave up and told them to take it back and remove it from the ticket. So yeah, I would rather not have supper (after not eating all day) than to deal with more incompetence. Is that enough?
I was pleasantly surprised, I’m visiting from Missouri and found this by mistake. The service is a little slow, but the food was excellent. I will be stopping by one more time before I leave. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
A Mexican Surprise!. The Sol de Mexico restaurant may not have much of a street presence but once inside this narrow restaurant is impressive with its beautiful decor and tasty authentic food. The dining area is in the back with a cute outdoor patio. Parking is also available in the rear. They open at 11:00 everyday so I ordered huevos rancheros, which was not on the menu. The chef accommodated my request and delivered with an excellent brunch complete with rice and refried beans. I would highly recommend this Mexican surprise in downtown Eustis!!
