we were traveling back roads heading back to Tampa area and I must say I had one of the best chicken parms I ever had very tender tasty chicken and great meatsauce w/ it loved it want to go back but it is 150 mi from me will go back some day Pat
It has to be the very limited amount of restaurants in this town that would cause anyone to recommend this Establishment. recommended as both homestyle and southern cooking, they were neither. Although the main dishes were well presented, all of the sides seem frozen, and mass-produced. Even the cornbread was closer to a hockey puck, then actual food. Very disappointed.
Good country cooking. Grew up in the Orlando area and remember the great places you could go to get a country meal, meat and 3 sides (Lamar Hotel, Chistains, etc) nothing like that around anymore. Tried The Mason Jar and the food was great maybe a little high priced but no bad for the food received. Had the country fried steak, steamed cabbage, pinto beans and beets. Everything was great, this is the best cabbage I have had in a very long time, The pintos and cabbage had huge chunks of ham in them, the way my mother used to make them. Glad I found the Mason Jar it is a about 25 miles for me to travel but I will be doing it at least once a month to get a great country meal.
