WORST Experience in YEARS. I had the absolute worst experience at this restaurant, to the point where I will be going out of my way to warn my co-workers and apartment complex away. I had ordered a bloody mary that was awful. It was extremely watery, and tasted like diluted tomato juice. I took a few sips and kindly informed them that I didn’t like it, and as we were at the end of the meal when we were checked up on, I didn’t need them to try again. I get my bill, and theres a 5 dollar charge for the drink. I told the waitress and she informs me that it is usually 9 dollars (and it wasn’t even CLOSE to being worth 9 dollars anyways) but that they can’t fully take it off the bill. I was flabbergasted that they wouldn’t comp a drink that I had taken all of two sips of. As it wasn’t the waitress’ fault, I asked to speak to a manager. I was told that the manager was leaving and she didn’t have time to speak to me. It was the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever been a witness too. To be AT the restaurant, but not come stop at my table to alleviate some of my unhappiness? Clearly they don’t care about the restaurant’s reputation at all. I will be posting this review on all of our military review sites and all the public. Manager’s name is Kelly that refused to speak to me if the owner ever reads this.
The food was not good at all…nothing special, didnt seem like a clean atmosphere. Wouldnt recommend it. Fernandina has better options.
Wonderful place! Have Forrest suggest what you should eat – he won’t steer you wrong. We had the Creole Pork Platter with Dirty Rice and Gravy and Mrs Brown’s Famous beans. Topped off with Chocolate Souffle! Amazing!
Avoid – the worst lunch anywhere. The Venice Beach sandwich ($9) is house salad in a processed, white roll drowned in a vinegar dressing. The rice and beans bowl is exactly that for $14. It was a pretty miserable lunch at $30 for two. To give you an idea of what it looked like, it’s more akin to a cafeteria at a nursing home than a quaint cafe at a beach-side town.Better still, in addition to the fairly large standard menu there’s also a tasting menu, which would be slightly pretentious for a great restaurant on an island but completely delusional for the quality of food served up here. The two items we had were hands-down the worst meal we’ve ever had in Florida or maybe the entire US and clearly there’s good reason why the locals don’t pack out this place at lunch time. The $5 Subway special is heaven on a plate compared to anything here.

Fantastic. My husband and I are new to the area and were looking for pet friendly restaurants and came across Jack and Diane’s. What a goldmine!!! We found the location easily and once there were greeted with open arms, along with our furbabies, 2 chihuahuas. We were seated on the patio by a very pleasant waiter who offered us as well as our babies beverages (iced water for our doggies no less!). I had sweet tea and my husband ordered lemonade, which he said was the best that he’s had in a while. We both ordered a salad…Diane’s Mix. Wow, it was delicious. Filled with shrimp and crabmeat and a tasty dressing. The waiter also brought out treats for our doggies, chopped ham. The waiter also directed us to the beach and a shopping center we were looking for.The atmosphere was pleasant, the food was to die for and the waiter was the best. We had a delightful experience and will definitely be returning!!
I have only ever been here for breakfast, but it is an exceptional breakfast! Some very unusual and excellent choices on the menu. I had curry chicken crepes that were the best breakfast I had in 2013. All of the normal favorites are on the menu as well. I also. Found the price very reasonable. This is now my go-to breakfast in Fernandina.
