Not great. Decent. No real vegetarian options, which was disappointing for us. So to be fair, the meat entrees might have been more remarkable. The gu…

Pablo’s never disappoints us. The menu has changed but still offers more authentic Mexican cuisine, with rich sauce options like mole, salsa verde, adobo and tomatillos. This time I had the adobo chicken tacos and they were nicely prepared on fresh corn tortillas with a slightly spicy adobo sauce that had just the right amount of kick to it. Even on busy evenings it’s always easy to get in with plenty of seating and a comfortable back patio that offers a nice relaxing atmosphere.
Bland Mexican…who would have thunk?. It was a gorgeous day and we wanted to eat outside. We went by Kelly’s Courtyard Cafe but it was closed, even the hanging sign was not there. So we walked to Cafe Karibo and it was packed with people waiting, so we went to Pablo’s cause the sign out front said they had a courtyard in the back. As we walked thru the restaurant, it looked clean and employees were friendly. The courtyard was shady and very kept looking. We were waited on by a really nice guy and the service through out the meal was fine. We got the queso & chips and I got top shelf margarita to start. Chips were thicker than some but fresh and very corny tasting, the queso was good and the salsa they brought was the pureed kind (which I like) and was fresh tasting. The margarita was not weak and tasty. Very enjoyable so far. I ordered the Enchiladas Verde with one beef and one cheese. They were not even as big around as quarter, tortilla and all. The cheese one had so little cheese it was flat. The Verde salsa was good but other than that there was no flavor, not with the enchiladas or the rice and beans…none. My friend got the California Burrito and it was about 1/3 size of burrito at Mossfire. He said there were 3 small strips of steak and it was bland too. The smallish portions would not have bothered us if the food had had flavor but it did not. If we wanted to have some drinks and chips-n-dip, it would be fine because the courtyard is great but when we are in Fernie, we want lunch. Next time we will wait for a table at Karibo. *hugs*
Stopped in for lunch and I got some Queso and NY Burrito. The food was fabulous. Very generous portions and priced appropriately. Very authentic and nice atmosphere. I’d def recommend this place.
Impressed!. We took a group of 5 in here and had a variety of dishes and all them were terrific! Service was spot on and the margarita’s were huge. I would go out of my way to go back to this place…
Great food. Family owned & run, fabulous fresh and authentic! This restaurant is a find amongst so many chain Mexican establishments.I had the shrimp vaellerta – jumbo shrimp with cloves of garlic fabulous and light.Pablo came over to our table to introduce himself and thank us for coming.I work in NYC and this is my favorite Mexican restaurant here or there!Must go every time I’m here!Love it.
BEST MEXICAN !. Pablo’s is the best Mexican food and drinks on Amelia Island! It is much better than Pepper’s!
Bambinoshrimp9. Disappointment. The food was terrible an the service was lacking. We live here and used to enjoy it. They’ve gone downhill. We go to Peppers in Yulee or downtown now. They are always reliable.
